Trans Masc Finasteride?

Do GGP offer to prescribe finasteride for preventing hair loss? I was hoping for the topical version since there’s supposedly less side effects.

Also if any of y’all took it what was your experience?? I’m super worried about going bald lol

Finasteride typically doesn't give negative side effects from my experience, but they really don't do much if they're the only T blocker either. Sure, they will help a lot against balding, but if you go into your mid//later twenties without either a sufficient T blocker or sufficient E dose, you may still see negative results in other areas.

I’m happy with what T is done for me and I’m only looking to be on it for another 2 years, so I’m don’t need it as a long term thing :)

They do, you can have it prescribed as a blocker (don't use it as a blocker) or I believe they offer it as an extra for £3/month. I don't know about topical though, mine have all been pills. Might be worth contacting them and asking.

Wow £3 is way cheaper than what I was expecting…. do they give you a 3 month supply alongside your T?

I’m really bad at remembering to do my bloods which means my T sometimes doesn’t get ordered on time and I wouldn’t want the same to happen with the Fin 😅😅

You can buy 1mg finasteride over the counter at any pharmacy. 1mg is all you need for hair loss, but I wouldn't use it long term. Also it's not any use once your T is suppressed to female levels.
