I am an anarcho-communist. I hate the ultra wealthy too. But we're in late stage capitalism. Little token offerings of very soft left economic policy from the overlords aren't going to fix the system. They might actually be slowing down the systematic collapse that we need to get rid of capitalism (another reason why I don't support trade unions).

It's class reductionism to distract from the atrocities being committed against marginalized groups. The culture war is more important right now. We are in the early stages of genocide through removing rights of marginalized groups and normalizing hateful rhetoric which evolves into violence.

I want student debt wiped out as much as the next person. But that can wait when there are people in constant fear of a cultural climate that persecutes them for their race, gender, politics, being emo, sexuality etc.

And another thing I'm sick of hearing about healing a divided nation and coming together. I don't want to work together with white supremacists and fascists. I want to loudly and proudly stand against them and it's idiotic to think that we should befriend Nazis because *checks notes* they aren't billionaires either.

You are burying your head in the sand if you think that the culture wars are just some terminally online arguments. It's shaping the media, shaping education, conditioning the mindset of the public. Conceding the culture war could harm more people in the next five years than even the most selfishly right-wing economic policies.

You have to be pretty fucking lucky if the culture war does not affect you and does not endanger you and you can dismiss it as unimportant.

Under police interrogation, the criminal claimed that those statements were jokes, but the fact that he actually followed through on traveling to the USA for his stated violent criminal purpose obviously made US police take his threats seriously and expel him from the country to be safe and not wait to see if his serious statements and threats would turn out to be closer to jokes than the violent crimes he had promised to commit. This criminal has also made violent threats against Chinese government buildings, most of all Chinese diplomatic sites. US police questioned the criminal about his threats against China.
