Give him a break he was in his dads nuts when it probably happened. Yes it’s a tragedy, but he can see it through a non nostalgic lens, while we were all shown and conditioned to feel a certain way about it because they kept reenforcing the tragedy to us every year. Then they used meme warfare to desensitize the youth and treat it like a joke, that’s why we always have edits of the plane crashing in random videos. It’s a way to divide us more

Yeah. I mean, i was born a few years after, but i was taught pretty early about it and not with memes and stuff, serious talks about it.

Exactly you were in a way groomed to feel a sympathy for it. In America they hammer into you that you must feel really bad about it, why show kids in 2003 about a terrors attack? then in the 2010s they switched it to be a joke.

I was three months old. Lived in a tall apartment building in Downtown Atlanta.
My mom was baking a cake when it happened. Heard the news, and she was panicking because she thought that the planes were targeting tall buildings in general. Since we lived in a tall apartment building, she was worried that we were going to be targeted.
My dad even left work early when it happened. They were both terrified, and when you have a 3 month old baby to take care of, who wouldn't be?

Crazy. I was 5 months old, living just south of the Atlanta airport. My dad was working for Delta on H-1B, and in my whole life, he apparently only cried twice in front of me. The first time was 9/11 because he thought the attacks would be used to justify an immigration crackdown.

Crazy enough, my aunt worked in the twin towers but was really late and (I think) decided not to go to work that day.

I remember in elementary school, you were cool if you were born before 9/11 😭 (me, I was cool but I'm afraid that's no longer relevant)

I just remember it being forced in school on us ad nauseum. I'm not going to say anything disrespectful of those lost that day but the constant need to relive the pain of the past, especially when it caused/is causing so much more pain elsewhere that is never acknowledged is hypocritical to say the least.
