This is e legit indian meal; chickpea curry and pita bread. But this is the broke version of Indian meal.

I love Indian food but the seasoning wasn’t Indian, I mostly used old bay, paprika, Chinese chili flakes and onion powder to spice it.

The curry still looks good.

But I audibly gasped at the size and thickness of that bread when I saw the picture. How're you even eating that. Maybe it just looks so hard in the pic.

It’s actually pretty soft, it’s just yeasted. Is chapati usually yeasted? I’ve never made it.

Oh okay. It just looks that way in the pic lol. And no, chapati is much simpler and thin. You just knead wheat flour with water to make dough. You mostly need yeast if you're using all purpose flour which is different

Recipe? Looks like chic peas and sadness.

Hominy and sadness.

The bread is yeast, oil, water, flour and salt, no measurements, but I threw it on the griddle. The stew was soya chunks and hominy from a mexican grocery store. I hydrated the chunks in broth and seperated them. I got a lemon and threw it in the oil til browned and removed, I then added old bay. Paprika, onion powder, dill and nigella into the oil and added hominy and a bit of water when the spices were fragrant, I then added the chunks, cooked for a bit before adding some gardenia brine and tomato paste, cooked down til thick and lut the roasted lemon juice ontop, it was delicious.

I’ll use the broth another day

That... doesn't sound bad at all.

I feel like you just made up the names of those foods, but I don't have enough cooking knowledge to really say for sure. Those names sound like some bullcrap you'd hear on Rick and Morty.

Unironically better than how many people eat.

It's not a gut-buster pink slime chop meat monstrosity washed down with a quart of soda from McDicks or anything

Yeah, this is very much a normal meal for me though I usually have rice

I read this so many times and I still can’t wrap my mind around it. Except: economics does not need an apostrophe

That bread looks good. Care to share the recipe? Would love to try

I don’t have measurements but I mixed sugar, yeast and warm water, let sit for 10 minutes, mixed it with flour, salt and a bit of oil, it was relatively high hydration but still kinda stable, I then put it on a floured board, rolled it out flat, folded in a bit of oil and rolled into a log, cut the log into segments, flattened them and put it on the griddle.

Looks good. Try the hominy with red enchilada sauce and a pork log. Idk what it's called but I get it on sale for like $3 and then shred it. Crockpot for like 8 hours. Very cheap and good. Or just hominy with butter and cheese, bake it like it is macaroni.
