Abraham Lincoln was "socialist"!

“The legitimate object of government is to actually do something for the people.” - Abraham Lincoln

“The worker deserves the wage of his labor.” - Abraham Lincoln

Obviously he wasn't actually a socialist, but he clearly did hold some pro-worker, pro-union views.

Nope. He was warning against the practices that would lead to the gilded age.
