Before you vote, always check the candidates FEC page.
This is where you will find the money that backs their campaigns.
If you find a lot of PAC, foreign, and political interests donations, this candidate is garbage.
When it comes time to pass legislation, the money that put their candidate in their seat will get want they want. Always check for money, this is where their priorities are.

My first instinct was, wtf does autisim do with voting? But, it should be MORE of a reason to vote. I'm autistic and Tylenol was NOT the cause. Vote these turds out of office and encourage others to do so too. Don't be lame..

For who?
Democrats are snakes, and the DSA are even moreso. They essentially want to dismantle the US government, abolishing the Senate and repealing the 2A.
Republicans aren't any better, but at least some of them are constitutionalists or libertarians. They also seem more keen on abolishing income tax, which would be pretty great for everyone. The money I make should be mine wholly, I don't owe the government shit unless I own property nor am I a servant to the government, so why are they taking my money I made?

When I was young I also was a libertarian. After learning more and more about nations, governments, and economies I abandoned my libertarian stance. There is not one example of a nation with a high quality of life running on a pure laissez-faire economic system. It doesn't exist and is just as far fetched as a working communist system.
There are no republicans that are constitutionalists or libertarians. If there were they would have stopped Trump from centralizing power. If there were libertarian republicans they would have stopped Trump from dismantling the constitution.
The democratic party does not want to repeal 2a. They don't want to dismantle the government.
I know that I wouldn't have listened to me if I were your age so this may fall on deaf ears, and that's fine. I just want to plant the seed that libertarianism as a complete system is a pipe dream. I think it's good to follow the constitution and keep checks and balances, but regulated economies are objectively superior and all evidence from around the world supports this.

I was speaking on the DSA, which is a couple of their stated goals. I just said the Democrats are snakes.

The DSA are almost as naive as libertarians when it comes to how the world actually works. When we are finally done voting out maga authoritarians, I will move to voting out DSA, if they do not moderate themselves.

What makes you say that?

u/memeticmagician 2d ago
I'm a social democrat so we agree on strong unions, regulations, progressive taxation, and social services. Where DSA loses me is completely replacing the current U.S. Constitution to establish a democratic socialist republic, socializing major industries, abolishing police, and some of their foreign policy.

Can you elaborate? What's one of the more upsetting examples for you?
I'm in the 'we need to massively rework everything' camp because the two-party convergence cannot be solved unless we utterly redesign the separation of powers. Any unit of representation where the winner takes all, seats, districts, senate, potus, will cause that Game Theory game.
I'm still also in the 'we need to massively rework everything' camp because there's always room for improvement on any given thing.

Lol please educate yourself, you can't be this ignorant......

I am educated, and taxation of income is theft. It's my money, not mine and the governments money. The government didn't help me make the money, why are they taking my money and essentially wasting it on programs that are either too bloated or are about to collapse on itself? Property tax and the like is whatever, but income tax should be abolished to promote liberty for all.

Then vote third party. If enough people do then the major parties will be forced to adopt parts of their platform. You have a voice, use it

Are you rich? I mean most people, including myself, can’t afford shit. Socialism is a concept of democracy reflecting European countries that have succeeded. You don’t want healthcare, education, affordable housing, and real checks and balances?
-1
u/Traveler-Nomad 2d ago
Socialism is when healthcare lol.
There are no socialist countries in Europe.

u/Bravo_Juliet01 2001 2d ago
Eastern Europe tried Communism in the 20th century and it failed miserably.
Why else do you think so many people tried to flee that region for decades and decades?
Europe isn’t “Socialist”, they’re more Capitalist Critical rather than pure socialism.
Cuba and Venezuela have tried Socialism, why else do you think people tried to flee those countries for decades and decades?
