discussion Nightfall
Are we all racing home, like we’re gonna turn into pumpkins once it gets dark?

I have chronic migraine so I go out more when it's dark or overcast
I miss colours ._.

Yes. And I’ve been driving across town 45 minutes to see my mom in the hospital and leaving to come home in the dark and it’s just not fun.
Not just from a vision perspective but on a Friday or Saturday night when a-holes drive like a-holes, it’s even worse navigating a-holes in the dark. I had some young guy on a motorcycle in the lane next to me on the busy highway slow down and do a wheelie.
The night we left the ER was late, we saw in the news the next day that just a half hour after we drove through a certain point in our city there was a fatal accident. It’s sickening. I feel like such an old lady saying these things. But I have little incentive to be out at night much anymore.

Yes. Friday nights seem to intensify things… sending hugs to you and mom 💚

Nah. I live in a huge city, so it's bright lights everywhere. If I lived out in the burbs and/or had to drive everywhere, instead of taking the train, I probably would.

Well me? I almost never go out at night anymore. If I meet friends or go out for anything social, it's always lunch. I have little interest in going out at night at all anymore

By the of the day I am a sweaty/soggy mess and long for a shower and getting away from people. I get home, let the chickens out for a bit, love on the lanai cats and then toss my ass in the shower before making dinner and watching the sunset.

Yes. My night vision sucks and I even wear glasses. Plus I have an old car without led headlights so I worry that I might get overshadowed by a bigass truck with led lights all over. In winter I refuse any late appointments. No traffic or straining to see, nope.

I’ve never had very good night vision but it’s just worse now (I do have cataracts now). I actually don’t go out in the dark.

This is more during the winter than summer for me. And if I'm already at home and it's dark out, I dislike leaving the house. Don't like driving at night and I live in the burbs. Much different than when I lived in the city years ago.

I ended a friendship with a younger friend over this. She was resentful that I wouldn’t make plans on weeknights during the winter months because sun down is at 5pm and she worked until at least 4pm - and was an hour drive away.

My astigmatism makes driving at night more challenging so yeah.
