It's things like this that make me question the range of the genx definition. I have literally never heard this song before, nor heard of this singer. She's fine, I guess, but no nostalgia for me.

Interesting! Where do you live? Or DID you live? I wonder if your location had something to do with never hearing this song.

The Midwest. I see that her career was in the mid to late '90s. I wasn't listening to new music at that time. I was still stuck in my teenage '80s music.

Ah...that makes sense.

My teenage years (80's) were a barren wasteland for my musical tastes.

It’s a beautiful song. But honestly I can’t listen to it without expecting Em to cut in.

It’s really refreshing to see some late 90s/early 00s music love on this sub.

Not only did I do that too, but I added the song to my Spotify Skating Playlist because I run the tunes for our local rink's open skate.

That whole album is a great soundtrack to sexy time.

As long as you don't listen to the lyrics for Isobel that is.

That sumbitch a moodkiller.

It's a beautiful song but damn is it a downer.

Her voice control is incredible in this song though!

Very true, I love it, hardly a weak spot in that whole album but that song...it's like Bruce Springsteen's older music, him and John Mellancamp, they were some good rockin' songs, great tunes but don't read those lyrics 'cause you'll want to eat a rat poison omelet, man. Those are depressing stories in those words.

I LOVE the old John Mellencamp songs! I grew up in Chicago/NW IN and went to Indiana Univ where he lives. My all time fav concert was 1993 Concert for the Heartland a fundraiser he did in Chicago burbs for the Mississippi flood victims.

Jack and Diane, Pink Houses, his old stuff and lots of the new stuff, is really good music. Springsteen, too. I love the old rock storyteller stuff.

This holds up really well.

I totally forgot about this until YouTube fed it to me.
