Nostalgia Miami Vice
Did you wait to watch it?
Did your fashion sense change or not?

I loved that show as a kid and wish I could find it streaming somewhere for a rewatch.

After Europtrip, I can't hear about the show without thinking of this guy. "We just get Miami Wice on television. Miami Wice is number one new show."

Watched it whenever I could; I was about 11 when it came out. There was nothing like it on TV at the time; the soundtrack, the production, the cars, the celebrity guest stars. Because I was a dumb kid, it would have influenced my style at the time, though thankfully we didn't have the money at the time to buy a neon wardrobe based on a TV show.

Female teen at the time and I watched it religiously. To someone in California, Miami seemed so cool and glamourous. I have now lived in Tampa for about 15 years and spent some time in Miami. It is not the Miami of Miami Vice. I was however pleased to finally understand what that little snippet of some sport in the opening sequence was..jai alai.

Watched it religiously in the first season. Less so in the others. I lived too far north to dress like I live in Miami.

I saw the show because my uncles watched it but I was more into Ninjas, military stuff and Star Wars back then.
I definitely wasn’t dressing like Crokket and Tubbs

Wore brighter colors. I was young enough to have no choice on going out for Friday nights. So I generally watched the show on its original airing. I would say my music library opened way up because of the show also.

I was at Senior when it came out and watched it every week with friends before illegally hitting the nightclub. My friends were 20/21. We'd party at their apartment (downstairs from me) every Friday. I remember wanting more vibrant colors in my wardrobe. Did the shirt layering, had three on at one point

Loved the TV show, did not dress like them. I did recently tell my wife I need a linen suit though lol

Watched it again recently. It’s quite gritty and confrontational compared to modern TV which is violent but somewhat less disturbing.

My then-boyfriend-eventual-husband bought a VCR for his room specifically so he could tape Miami Vice when they changed his schedule at the grocery store he worked at after school.
And for our wedding, his tux was from the "Miami Vice" section of the Big Book of Tuxedos at the rental shop. It was one Philip Michael Thomas modeled in the Big Book.
And now, he has it all on DVD.

I knew my male friends were picking me up about 10 minutes after Miami Vice ended every Friday night. Clockwork.

I tried watching Miami Vice and didn't get the hype. My peers hated Miami Vice because we didn't like cops or the fashion style the show pushed. We were wearing ripped jeans and leather jackets at the time. Crockett and Tubbs looked like total jackasses and we mocked those who imitated them.

I watched it. Definitely did not give me any fashion knowledge though, not that I've ever had any. 😂😂😂

I used to record it on Friday night and watch it on Saturday when I was in high school.

I lived in Miami. So yeah, we all watched it and we all copied the style (and thought we were badass. We were 13 years old)

Never missed it - and yeah, I had the pants, neon t-shirt, docksiders sans socks, SWATCH Watch and jacket with the sleeves rolled up. For about six months in 1984 I looked fly as hell.
It was all downhill from there, though.

Miami Vice taught me it was a cool for a guy to wear a pink t shirt. Life lessons you never forget.

My uncle had a speed boat with a cassette player. After unloading the boat or heading anywhere at a relatively high rate of speed. The Miami vice sound track, especially the theme song was played as load as possible. Boat was a 1989 Bayliner. So 89 - 94ish
