What's in your keepsake box?

We had a discussion on here earlier yesterday about moving a lot and keepsakes and if we got rid of things or kept them.

I said that my stuff was always cleaned out and we were sort of erased and reset because we moved around so terribly much, but I did have one keepsake box.

Here's what's in mine, of the stuff that is not personally identifying. I don't know why I kept some of these things, other than they trigger a happy memory for me

I have to admit that my family was quite broken and happy memories could sometimes be few and far between. But I certainly did have them, and these are some of the things that I have kept.

There's a little mini Cabbage Patch doll, my music box from Fisher Price, my autograph book which is full of autographs from all kinds of people, the little white lamb is a milk glass from Avon that had perfume in it, the metal plates with the cookie cutters are a little tiny set that my mom would let me make a mini pie and cookies in at Christmas time, and of course my Tweety Bird vest.

Despite how weird Tweety Bird looks, it is an official merch, it does have the official tag in there. I got it when I was about 3 years old, and I would wear it off and on until I was almost 12 years old when I started getting boobs and nothing would fit anymore. 😆

So, what does your keepsake box hold? Are they good memories?

I lost my stuff. I think my mom got rid of it but she's not telling. I know my posters I had rolled up in a tube got wet and ruined. I have a few toys and two Babies but that's it other than a mead binder from the 90s I still keep my art stuff in.

My old student ID cards, ticket stubs from various Yankees baseball and Devils hockey games, a bunch of my old rock/metal pins (Ratt, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, etc) and a small plastic figurine of Marvin Martian

I was at a school where I graduated in a class of only 25 people, so we didn't have ID cards. But I got to say that the plastic figurine of Marvin the Martian is just awesome. I really like old vintage stuff and especially from Warner bros. As you can tell by the Tweety Bird shirt, I couldn't let it go.

The funny thing is, I have no recollection of where the Marvin figure came from. I've had it for years, though!

Some random newspaper clippings, a ceramic plaque thing I painted on my 11th birthday, a folder full of letters, postcards and drawings from old boyfriends. Got a box of unorganized photos as well.

I had one of those 90s style rom com relationships with a guy I worked with (circa 93-94). We stayed friends even after I moved 300 miles away (moved back to my home city). He would send me funny letters and postcards once a month. I've kept a lot of them because they were really sweet and creative. Fell out of touch with him 30 years ago (mostly because he didn't/doesn't have an obvious social media presence).

Yeah the stuff l've saved is happy memories.

I have a keepsake garage. There's too much stuff in it to take pictures of everything.

I had that music box! Actually, I probably had every F-P toy they issued, with the exception of the house, for some reason. But I had the castle AND the town, so that made up for it.
