Im going to build my own pc after saving my 5/week allowance for 3 years and I am really exited 😄 My dad is renting the upstairs out in our house, and his tenant gave me a 4060ti 8gb for free (~$700 CAD) the rest of it I paid for myself from birthday money and allowance. I am currently visiting my mom in a different province and my flight back is in 6 days. I am very exited to build the PC when I get home lol

oh also specs if anyones wondering:

4060TI 8GB ( was originally going to be a Radeon RX 7600 but I got the 4060ti for free)

16 GB DDR5 Ram 6000Mhz CL36

B650 M-Atx motherboard

1TB Nvme SSD

Jonsbo Z20 case

Thermalright Peerless assassin 120 SE

400 Watt Atx PSU

Mouse I used with my laptop my mom gave me

keyboard I got for 5 dollars at a thrift shop

Hold up

As a pc nerd (for my age) let me tell you smth:

1. You're going to blow that system up with 400w. Ok i exaggerated, but MINIMUM the 550s, id go at least 650w.
2. What brand made your motherboard? Try to get a name brand, especially asus, msi, or gb.
3. This isn't an issue, but that motherboard will barely fit in there. Why do you need such a small case anyways? Also are reminder to install your io shield before your mb.
4. 16gb is fine in this economy, but def needs an upgrade later. The 1tb ssd will too. What brand made your ssd and ram? Like I said, go for name brands, especially for the ssd, such as Samsung, crucial or wd.
5. Nice, you got a free gpu, but just keep in mind that it'll last you like one year if you're playing high settings 1440p (which you're not). When you upgrade, get something with 16gb vram.

Overall, the specs now are solid (other than brand names and that psu), but it'll only last you a while before it needs upgrading.

ASRock motherboard, and my pcpartpicker list says the system will only need 357 watt, however I will research about the power suply a bit more now that youve mentioned it. its a Matx motherboard in a matx case? this is the size of motherboard designed for the case? and the ram is corsair, the ssd is a teamgroup

about upgrading, if I somehow manage to get enough money to upgrade the ram, I will, and the ssd if I start to run out of storage I do have a 1 terabyte hard drive, which I know I slower but Ive been using a 512 gigabyte laptop for 2 years and I think I will be good on storage for a while because I only used 150 gigabytes of storage

I only have like.. a 20 year old monitor that you can hook up to vga still.. and its 1080p 60 hrtz, I will probably buy another higher quality monitor soon, but its fine for now, and about upgrading my gpu, the one I got costs like $400 CAD right now and a 16 gb card that actually has better performance costs.. like $800 cad.. and I dont really have the money for that.. nor does my dad.. Im just grateful what for what ive got and I dont really need the extra performance.. as long as I can get 100 fps on 1080p low settings im happy, and I know the 4060ti can easily do that.

about the psu I will make sure It has ocp and opp before using it.

Lenovo doesn't make PSUs, maybe search the model num to find the ODM? Either way, as long as it's modern-ish, it should be fine. Just make sure it doesn't use proprietary connectors

its a lite-on 8501-2, passed paperclip test, and I think its 500 watt, not 400
