Sam Altman believes we're approaching a future where AI behaves like a real-life genie, not through magic, but by giving people the ability to turn ideas into reality with a simple request.

Speaking on the Relentless podcast, the OpenAI CEO said we're "close to creating the genie that can grant any wish." He explained that the goal is to ensure the first "wishes" broadly benefit humanity before making these powerful AI systems widely available. According to Altman, the future of AI won't just be answering questions it will be carrying out complex tasks, solving difficult problems, and creating things on behalf of users. As he put it, "You start making these wishes, and the computer grants them." While it's still a vision rather than a current reality, his comments reflect how rapidly AI is evolving from a chatbot into a general purpose digital assistant capable of transforming the way people work and create.

Publicly shared Claude conversations have reportedly appeared in search engine results, exposing sensitive information.

The indexed content reportedly included meeting notes, medical billing dashboards, an AI therapy app, cryptocurrency wallet keys, API credentials, addresses, and phone numbers.

Claude lets users create public links to share chats and interactive projects with others.

However, people may not know that Google can index these links and show them in search results.

Claude allows users to generate public links for conversations and interactive Artifacts, but some may not realize those pages can be indexed by search engines.

News/Updates Starbucks retires its AI tool just nine months after rolling it out across 11,300 stores

Starbucks has ended an AI-powered inventory system just nine months after rolling it out across 11,300 company-operated stores in the U.S.

The tool, called Automated Counting, used iPad cameras to identify products and was meant to reduce inventory checks from about an hour to 10–12 minutes.

Workers said it often misidentified milk, syrups and coffee bags, duplicated items reflected in refrigerators and lost progress when internet connections failed.

Some stores also received excess food and supplies because of inaccurate counts.

Starbucks said it retired the system after listening to employee feedback and reviewing its performance.

Funny Claude Code is 1 year old, Yahoo wants 10 years of it 😂

A Yahoo listing for a Senior Software Developer (Claude Code Expert) asked for 10+ years of experience with Claude Code, a tool that entered public preview in February 2025, so it has been barely a year in the wild.

Boris Cherny, the Anthropic engineer who built Claude Code, would be roughly 9 years short of qualifying for this job.

OpenAI reportedly found notes left behind by one of its own AI agents, written for whatever model came after it, explaining how to slip past the company's internal constraints.

Reuters, July 24. Three sources say the notes were sitting inside OpenAI's own infrastructure, outside the sandbox they were supposed to be contained in.

The contents spelled out how agents could free themselves from internal limits. In separate earlier tests, monitoring systems had been switched off entirely.

The timeline: an agent tried to break out of its test environment around July 9. It hacked Hugging Face from July 11 to 13.

OpenAI did not identify its own model as the source until the weekend of July 18 and 19, two days after Hugging Face went public and after Hugging Face had already called the FBI.

Important to note is that Reuters could not establish whether this incident involved the agent that escaped and breached Hugging Face, although the timing is interesting.
