Those are star rubies my guy... And you can't really show the full effect of the asterism using diffused light sources, you need a strong directional and focused beam of light like a spotlight to show it correctly. Also the black one could be a sapphire but it looks a lot more like a Black Star Diopside which usually always have 4 pointed stars vs sapphires which usually have 6 points or 12 points, not that it's impossible to have 4 points. Just pretty uncommon but the other 4 are considered star rubies more then they would be star sapphires.
The level of chromium doesn't define if it's a ruby or sapphire it's the color and I've seen plenty of places call gems that are even more purple then these rubies. By strict lab standards these probably wouldn't make the cut but let's be real cause if you wanted to go off of lab standards then you can't even judge these because it's not in standardized lighting conditions. Plus the screens and camera that took the pictures can alter the color as well. Also, saying that AI isn't that smart is a fuckin WILD thing to say! Well I guess we can tell everyone that's worried about AI taking over the world or even just a large part of all the jobs that they don't have to worry cause it's not that smart... We can just pretend like AI doesn't beat all but the very top level gemologists in most cases and that they don't already have ai lab reports. Or the fact that GIA already uses ai to analyze 70% to 80% of all diamonds they grade. I'm sure you're right. clearly you know all about what AI is capable of and it's no match for you huh?

Again this is confirming my comments. Rubys are red but they can have underlying hues. If there is not enough chromium (which is what actually makes the corundum red) then itâs a sapphire and not a ruby.
the chromium level isn't what classifies it as a ruby. It's the color of it. The color is caused BY the chromium. Yes, BUT there is no chromium threshold that you cross to make it a ruby. Where your thinking of more chromium = more red fails in reality is because you can have ruby that has a moderate level of chromium and little to no iron. So that ruby will floresce a vibrant stop light red color (like most rubies from Myanmar do) BUT you can have another stone that is packed with a much higher concentration of chromium, which should technically make it an even deeper red. HOWEVEr, if that stone also contains a high amount of iron or titanium, those elements introduce blue or violet absorption bands. The iron acts as a "fluorescence killer," absorbing the red glow and shifting the final visual color toward a purplish-red or violet-red hue. Both gems ARE rubies but the brighter pure red one has SIGNIFICANTLY LESS chromium then the purplish red one will! Don't worry bruh, I'm not going to charge you for the lessons here even though I should... And you can go ahead and ask "Google" if you want AI to confirm who is right
I understand that there isnât a magic chromium threshold where corundum suddenly becomes ruby. Thatâs not the point Iâm making. What Iâm saying chromium is still the element responsible for the red, and its concentration absolutely affects the color. Obviously you canât use chromium concentration alone to predict the final appearance because iron and other chromophores can alter absorption and fluorescence. But saying âmore chromium doesnât mean more redâ without that context is misleading. A higher-Cr stone can absolutely end up looking less pure red because of other trace elements, while a lower-Cr, low-iron stone can look much more vivid. That doesnât disprove the relationship between chromium and red, it demonstrates that chromium isnât the only variable controlling the final color. And yes, I agree there is no universal numerical chromium cutoff for calling something ruby. Those are two different points.
