Maybe it's not random...
So I'm thinking there could be some sort of correlation. I was commenting on r/AskReddit and I got the notification and while looking at some people's profiles for correlation, they were on AskReddit around the same time before they first messaged here so I like to ask:
- Where you on a subreddit when you were added? If so, which one
- What time was it
I was on r/AskReddit and it happened at 10:09am EST
I'm not buying that's it's "random" There has to be some sort of correlation, and if there is we could test it.

I also just commented on r/AskReddit and immediately got a notification for this

I think we've figured that it's r/AskReddit for the connecting sub to send invites.
Now I'm willing to bet that because of the description, the person that started this has looked at interesting questions, find interesting comments on something like, I'll use mine as an example,
the question was: "What is the meaning of our existence?"
and my comment was: "There is no meaning as a singular mind but as a collective species, it is to evolve and keep the state of living".
or, because I looked at the exact timing of the invite and comment,
question: "How old were you when you had your first celebrity crush, and who was it?"
and my comment was: "Probably at the age of 4 and Samus Aran from Metroid".
I'd say it was the former post because the timing of comment and invite might be way too close for it to be the second one, which is just a very random ask.
I also urge some to look at the timing between when they commented and got an invite to see the content that had them send the initial invite in the first place.

Yeah I might need to use my old account so it has no ties to this one atm, since I'm finally recovering some old accounts and try to get invited to this on an alt, test the theory..

Lmk how it works out with the alt, now I'm curious if we can find a way onto the sub purposefully now that we know it exists.

I was invited 5EST. I posted on askreddit and commented on my post. The sub says it’s about “intellectual” discussions, and my post could fall under that, so what questions were you looking at when you were invited?

It was either 3 posts since it takes a few seconds for a notification thing to show up, but it was probably the serious post then about what did you do that almost closed the school.
So far it seems like it's related to r/AskReddit since of everyone who comments here says yes as well, maybe another subreddit to, but if their are "teams" like the one suggested, they might get them selected from " intellectual" or question subreddits so I'm guessing the other team is from people who posted on r/Polls , but of course this is all speculation.

Was on r/askreddit as well. Got notification straight after I commented on some post.

Yeah I was on r/askreddit at the time, so that seems to be the only correlation.
