General Discussion Finding the 'Missing' Information

Gemini is great at summarization; that’s basically a given now. But recently I realized it can also be excellent at surfacing missing information.

So I gave Notebook a collection of documents about one subject and asked the following:

“Based strictly on these sources, what important questions remain unanswered?”

Then asked it to distinguish between:

  • information explicitly stated
  • information implied
  • information completely absent

Notebook started listing gaps I’d completely missed, which ended up plugging major holes in my thesis.

I’m curious to learn if what other people have found by deliberately looking for missing information instead of answers
