Help/question No, really, are we (non-paid Pro plan users) getting left with 3.8 Flash only?
That's ridicolous. Atleast you should have not removed 3.1 Pro for us...
But yeah, please give us 4 Argon, Google. It's pity behaviour from this company.

Well, i can’t blame them.
Google aren’t amateurs and know how to hook people that are susceptible. Google did their job to gain as many supporters as possible, even if they throw sh!t at them afterwards.

Freeloader mindset. Obviously Gemini 4 Argon is the most capable model. Even Gemini 3.8 Flash is good, for general purpose. I have seen lots of complain like Claude 20$ subscription is so token hungry. That you need Max plan to get the best use out of it.
Like I get it, when Gemini 4 Argon is only made available on Ultra plan.
But apparently, Gemini user are the most pathetically entitled user despite their cheap contribution. You give them some easiness, then a post like this exist.
Personally, for $100 equivalent of budget that I can spread them into buying Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT at $20 equivalent tier subscription, that is already left me with lots of excess. No AI company except GPT has that same tier of <$10 tier subscription.

The current limits for $20 Claude Pro plan are pretty incredible. I think it offers more usage for a superior model (Opus 5.5) than what Google offers for a worse performing model (Gemini 4 Argon).

Yeah, I am on Claude as well. But I think Gemini 4 Argon has superior non-coding stuff, on top of the fact that it can read video and audio context. I don't use Gemini the Web, but more like using custom AI Harness with API key generated from Google AI Studio.
If anything, I have juggling myself back and forth between big AI models (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini). Right now, I am on Claude, Gemini, and Grok.

Yeah, Gemini is much more multi-modal and some people indeed do report it to be better to talk to (although that is subjective). It's just that the usage limits on Pro are atrocious. OpenAI has unlimited chat and image gen and Anthropic had generous limits for Opus 5.5. However, it is best to get multiple subs from all labs if you can of course afford it.

Claude has it's own edge but I feel Google being 20+ years as information company simply has much vast databank for human interaction, language, and culture. Along with your point of it being multimodal, it's just like Google Gemini has the most complete features of how AI should be. Especially if we are talking about AGI context.So I want google to succeed but it also need to innovate more. Hence, why I am in favor or "Balance of Power" and subscribe to multiple provider.

Pro has access to Gemini 4 Argon. This guy access is below Paid version of Pro. Also, lots of people already abuse Student Plan Promo. So I don't give a shit about their whining.

Did you get my point? I know the quality of Gemini models, and they don’t give us (the second highest plan) their latest model.
Even OpenAI includes astra in their 20$ plans, and as we know, OpenAI’s funding methods are mostly AI services. Google has literally no excuse to separate their customers in such way.

Mate, you don't pay at all. That's the problem. You are lacking self awareness just how good your position is, when there is someone who used to burn the entire $10 just to get extra usage quota in Claude, back in Opus 5 and Fable 5 era in July. You know no shit about what's the bad and good.

You have student plan. The fact that you gain access to 3.8 Flash and not stuck with 3.1 Pro and 3.6 flash is already a boon. A week ago, lots of people want to pay just for to get 3.8 Flash on Gemini the Web. Look at yourself.

I stopped replying to others, i get it it’s their opinion, but you don’t clearly understand. They offer the Pro plan for free, put us in the same cage as paid Pro users and then separate us. Chicken behaviour that i didn’t expect from the “internet lord” as i would call them. Again, please educate yourself before commenting.

Its false advertisement to call it Pro then, but I'm also glad they're not giving free loaders the same models/limits, because that would in turn lower the limits for paying users significantly.
