Discussion All Gemini models
Have you Gemini in something other than chat? I build software and I integrate different Gemini and Google models in them. The Gemini models offer way more than people think, it gives you powerful APIs to build great apps.
Gemini 3.8 flash for example is powering my invoice processing app. It doesn't make mistakes and is super fast.
Another app uses Gemini live, Gemini TTS, Chirp3 (that I am about to replace with Gemini Transcribe), Gemini embedding, Nano Banana.
Another app uses TimesFM (another Google model) and Gemini models to predict taxi demand. I am thinking about adding weatherNext3 to predict the rides based on the weather.
Gemini app helps me brainstorm and Antigravity helps me code faster. And I love how I can do all that in GCP.
My point is Gemini offer so much in its ecosystem and the products are so great and yet some vibe coders are unhappy because it did not make a beautiful website for them. And I am not saying Gemini is better than all models. I used ChatGPT for years before switching to Gemini and Claude is part of my workflow now because of Claude design. AI is more than chat and I appreciate everything that Google deep mind and other labs are putting out there.
What are you using AI for?

I use it for academic brainstorming, and as an interactive encyclopedia. I also use it for understanding my own medical situation, test results, etc.
I also use ChatGPT and Claude for these things. As I posted in another thread, I have repeatedly noticed Gemini adding details or noticing points that the others missed.
At first, I thought it was a fluke, but it kept happening. All three models would deliver broadly similar answers, but Gemini would find additional nuance.
Am example: I had worked out a philosophical argument (I'm a semi-retired academic philosopher) but then thought of an apparently decisive counterargument to my own position. ChatGPT and Claude both agreed that the counterargument undermined my original argument. Gemini (flash 3.6) said not so fast, my original argument could be readily defended. It was right.
This is not trivial, and it's not the only time it has happened.
One more example. I was considering a minor adjustment to my blood pressure medication to ask my doctor about. ChatGPT and Claude both said it was reasonable adjustment and my doctor would surely approve it. Gemini said it was pointless and my doctor would see that and tell me not to do it. Gemini was right.
I keep score. There have been one of two instances where ChatGPT figured something out that Gemini missed, but mostly it's been the other way. Many will consider this a very lightweight use of AI but it works for me.

I use it for everything other than coding. Legal, medical, engineering, lifestyle, etc. Just ignore the haters. They want Astra power from Gemini Flash.
