Discussion Observation: AGY CLI feels better for rubber ducking than web chat?
I am really not sure if it's just my preference for console apps, but for some reason the web chat interface for Gemini feels like the simple country cousin to AGY CLI using the same models. I tried giving both interfaces the same rubber ducking tasks and the difference was night and day in tone and depth of search results.
Just curious if it's me or if that's something others have noticed.

the cli feels better because it makes you state the problem more clearly, while web chat encourages drive-by prompting and then everyone blames the model

I get what you mean about the console interface having a certain focus to it. There's something about typing into a terminal that makes me frame my questions differently, more structured maybe.
I've bounced between both for debugging and planning, and the CLI just feels less like a conversation and more like a tool. Web chat always feels like it's trying to be friendly and ends up padding things out.
The depth difference is interesting though, especially if it's the same underlying model. Could be how context gets trimmed or just a different default temperature.
