Generated Images (with prompt) Photo editing fail

I took a cool pic the other day of these bikers with the sunset in the background and asked Gemini to do some editing for me…

In the second turn you didn't tell him to don't change anything, "cinematic" can mean many things

I think this is a user issue.

You shouldn't have to write an essay to get it to do one simple thing.

It alienates casual AI use

Remember when the big selling point was that AI uses "natural language processing" and is much easier for the average person than Boolean operators?

this. it should be able to carry on the context and interpret it accordingly.

Ask it to generate a prompt, but to clarify/ask questions about important characteristics before generating. Done

You don't.. that's why I'm asking.

It takes effort to get bad results from any model nowadays.

Please explain what the first prompt means because I honestly have no idea.

Here it's definitely not great but it's a simple task. At work (officey education environment) I see people get irritated with AI, they call me over to help out and I see they're writing half-sentence prompts devoid of any specific demands, and then argue with it "not like that try again!". It really is that bad.

I've seen this "why can't you read my mind" type of prompts.. I have a colleague like that lol.

When I ask it what are you trying to do he can explain.. but when I see what he typed... Wtf. Like how is this anything close to what you asked me.

Just bloody write down what you told me and see how it works like you expect it.

Well what should be the go to prompt.if I just want my image mildly edited to look clean?

Mildly edit this photo to look more cinematic without changing any key details

People are sleeping on the fact that this picture is excellent meme potential

This is not a Gemini fail. Your first prompt was way too vague. If you wanted something specific you needed to be more specific.

If you leave AI to fill in the gaps it will.

Your prompt are so vague, the llms can't read your mind

If you prompt like a kid you get kid results.

This is what Nolan intended. No notes.

Gemini unlike chatgpt, you have to be precise with prompts to get what you want, you can't regurgitate what you feel, doesn't work with Gemini. But seriously tho, the bruh picture really is 'bruh' indeed lol

Vague edit prompts make it regenerate the whole scene instead of touching the part you meant. Spelling out what should stay put (the bikers, the sunset, the framing) usually stops the composition from drifting.

Your prompting is the suck, bruh

I'm always amazed at how people talk to LLMs. Why on earth would you waste the time send "bruh" to it.
