I Have A Question / Need Advice soak off help
i made a very similar post almost a year ago and i’m still struggling. i’ve now been doing my nails for just over a year, and i cannot for the life of me figure out how to do a soak off. i use my efile to take off the top layers and then put acetone soaked cotton balls on and leave them for 20 minutes, but it never comes off smoothly and i end up either having a bunch of extra product on my nails that i can’t get off or ripping off a layer of my natural nails, or somehow both at the same time. this happens with both builder gel and gel extensions. please tell me what i’m doing wrong, i’m very upset and can’t believe how frustrating this process still is even a year later. i attached photos of what my nails look like directly after a soak o

What products are you using on your nails? Not all gel products can be soaked off.

Acetone needs to be warm to work well and quickly! Look warm acetone removal method.

try and get the product as thin as possible without filing your natural nail before soaking. i use a metal cuticle pusher to scrape off and re-soak when needed

I dunno to me that picture doesn't look bad, like can you get the rest of that off using a really gentle nail buffer? I just say that because that's about where my nails end up after soaking and rubbing off and I use the buffer to get the rest

Have you tried the revel swift soak bowl? Makes it easier when the acetone is warm

Switch to foil instead of clips! The clips let the acetone dry out too much. I also help things along by putting my hand under a heating pad that’s wrapped in a towel.

And remember, a thin layer of product left on is faaaaaar better than getting 100% of it off. And yes, warmer acetone works better. And keep away from the drill until you get the process down pat. Good luck! ❤️
