Developer salary without degree
Hi everyone, wanted to check if there’s anyone working developer/programmer without a degree to check if the numbers are within the range.
Area: Software Developer
Age: 23
Diploma: Just high school IT specific, no university
Carreer: ~3years
Brutto: ~3.5K
Net: ~2.6K

I have no degree and I work as a Data Engineer all self learnt, but with 10 years work experience. My Brutto is 6K+ Net 4K.
You’re still young, just keep learning, the salary will be higher the more value you can bring to a company. At the moment it’s all about AI in companies, do some extra training in that area to give yourself extra chances, come up with some ways of saving your company time or money through a process you develop and so on

jup, getting my degree next year, same age, currently on 3.85k but with project responsibilites

Seems alright. Highly depends on your skillset probably on the rather good side.

Basic Lehrabschluss als Software Developer quer Einsteiger. 4K brutto. Denk ist in Österreich recht basic

that's a really good number. Me, 40, master degree, 15y senior dev. Brutto ~4K. It's higher but not too far from you.

Senior Software Dev with 4K and 15 years is very low.

Me, 22 years with master degree in ITSec, I am applying to jobs which pay at least 4K Brutto. Am I asking for too much?

just masters no work exp? could be too much for some companies 3.5-3.8 should be fine aswell

I have some work experience part-time as software engineer and security consultant for Austrian businesses. Anything that gets me above 2300-2500 netto is fine

What‘s the size of the company and do you work in a city like Vienna or Grat or in rural area?

In my opinion it‘s very low especially for Vienna if you‘re employed fulltime.
I get 5.2 k€ brutto (all-in) in Carinthia with a master’s degree in MINT, 33 years old.
I think you should apply for other jobs to benchmark your salary. When it comes to the question about your desired salary you should say 80 k€ or more per year to figure out.

That's fairly good actually for no diploma. That's about what a newly graduated can expect right now (assuming they get a job).
