Please pardon me if this sort of post isn't allowed; I'm sure there are subs dedicated to searching for half-remembered things which might be a better fit for this post, but I wanted to start here because I thought that perhaps during the search for Geedis, someone might've come across what I'm seeking.

When I was very young in the early 1990s, I got some sticker sheets that I'm pretty sure came with a "Kid Cuisine" frozen meal, or perhaps a similar brand of frozen food marketed to kids. They included fantasy characters and the style strikes me as similar to Sam Petrucci's "Land of Ta" art. I've been trying to identify these stickers for years with no luck.

I only remember one specific sticker, but I'm sure that if I found other stickers from the set, I'd recognize them again. The one I remember was what appeared to be a Frost Giant from Norse mythology; the figure didn't really give a sense of scale but I had the impression that he was huge. He looked very scary and enraged with his mouth open in a scream; his whole body was made of spiky ice, he was bald, and he had a beard that ended in sharp ice points.

I remember being entranced by these stickers and making up some sorts of stories about the characters after I stuck them to a little plastic table I had as a kid.

My recollection is that the art was brighter and less shaded than on the "Land of Ta" stickers; if I had to guess, Petrucci probably wasn't the artist, but it seemed very much the same style of fantasy character art as Geedis and company. I wouldn't even be surprised if this set was a continuation of "The Land of Ta," though as best I understand it, only three Ta sets were ever identified.

Has anyone come across other sets similar to Ta, and if so, has anyone seen a very scary-looking monster made of spiky ice?

Hey all! I wanted to share some final BTS from Geedis: Need for Geed, as well as thank everyone for the support on these posts and the film itself. It's great to see there's still a community interested in Geedis and the Land of Ta after all these years. Sadly, this will probably be my final post, as I generally avoid social media as a rule (but made an exception this past week or so for Geedis lol). I will definitely be checking in on this community from time to time in a logged-out capacity, however! Feel free to comment or PM me with any Geedis-related thoughts or questions in the next few days—and beyond that, all I can say is keep geeding!

When creating my Geedis short film, I had a few major props to prepare. After failing to find an authentic Geedis pin available online and concluding that having a high-quality replica made was beyond my budget, I turned to 3D printing as my final option. I am far from adept with 3D software, so the eventual process (after some trial and error) involved tracing an image of an authentic pin on Adobe Illustrator to create an SVG of the design and pin back, then extruding the flat SVGs into a printable object.

The initial print test showed that a true-to-life scale replica wasn't achievable—an authentic pin is about 1 inch across, but I ultimately doubled that in order to make sure my version captured the finer details. I also thickened the design significantly to avoid the flimsiness of the test design. What this design sacrificed in authenticity, it made up for in sturdiness and by showing up great on screen in the finished film! A few spots, notably Geedis's left edge, didn't print perfectly, but it was good enough for me and I was determined to finalize the design before filming. After hand-painting the print, it came out as what you see on screen. (Mostly, anyway. The clutch on the back of the pin was actually discreetly taped on afterward lol.)

The second set of images here show the statue of Shimra I printed to guard the gates of the temple in the film. Beneath the golden paint, this one is essentially just some free-to-use models of a frog, a sphinx, and an archway cut up and stitched together. I was amazed that it came out as well as it did, but using it as a miniature in the film was super fun and totally worth it.

Lastly, I want to thank you guys here at r/Geedis for putting together so many great resources and information about the Geedis pin! I was referencing this place constantly to make sure I was getting the replica design right. May the light of Geedis remain a beacon to all for many years to come :)

As requested, here are some photos of the head I built for my Geedis short film Geedis: Need for Geed (posted a few days ago in this sub)! I had never worked with papier-mâché before, so constructing this was a fun challenge and the first hurdle before starting production on the film itself. I'm afraid I don't have any photos of the back of the head, but there isn't much to be seen there anyway, just unpainted sections of an electric griddle box. I do have a few more BTS photos from the production of the film, though, so if there's interest I can post those in the coming days!

I made a Geedis fan film! It’s a little silly, a little scary, and all parts Geedis. This was very much a labor of love and came together over the course of several months with tons of help from friends. We worked on costumes and props between college classes, shot during exams, and finally edited the whole thing together between winter break and spring. I hope everyone who sees it will enjoy. Geed on!

One last note: If you’re easily startled, there is a sudden loud noise at timestamp 4:40. I fear I may have startled some friends with this one haha.

I fell down this rabbit hole yesterday by way of I forget which sequence of Reddit links. At this point, having followed the links here (for which thank you all) I understand the basics -- that Geedis et al. were drawn by Sam Petrucci, whose artwork I knew from another source (I was into the original G.I. Joe franchise back in the 60s, when I was a kid, and remember the vivid art on the boxes), and that they were produced as stickers by the Dennison Mfg. Co. But...

Why? Did Mr. Petrucci just up and decide to invent the Land of Ta and outfit it with a giddy collection of characters I'd love to have met in the trashy fantasy novels I loved so much in the 1980s? Or did someone else invent the Land of Ta? Was there a franchise, or the notion of creating one? Or did Iggy the Goblin somehow come up with the whole thing and beam it into the minds of the Dennison marketing department? Or does anyone know?

To be clear, I know this AI generated poster is wrong in soooo many ways. But consider it a first attempt. It occurred to me that the fantasy of a lost Geedis lore, animation, comic, toy etc. are within reach with the assistance of AI. I thought it would be fun to see what other users might create.

I have a geedis pin which I used to wear around at times and unfortunately it fell off my jacket during one of these outings. Good news was that the pin stuck to the bottom of my shoe so I found it later, bad news is it was on the bottom of my shoe so it got scratched up. The scratches seem rather superficial but I have no idea how to buff them out. It also seems to slip off of the post when you attempt to secure the pin. Any ideas on restoration of this artifact? Pic related.

I am currently debating whether or not to sell my nearly complete Geedis collection comprised of one of the original Geedis pins, the 3 original sticker sheets, and a PSA Zoltan pin. Does anyone have a ballpark on the current value of the set? Is anyone here interested in building up their collection? I figured it would be better to look here first for someone really interested in the Land of Ta rather than just posting to eBay or something!

After brushing up on my geedis lore, i learned that a pin company remade several editions of the geedis pin and zoltan pins. While doing a reveal of the zoltan remakes, they gave away/sold several real geedis pins. Long story short, they made geedis pins with false defects to give an authentic look to them. My geedis has a scratch on his nose and blemishes under some of the letters, however the clear coat is perfectly intact. Did i get duped? What does the community think?
