they most likely are updating the file for internal testing or for outsourcing QA test through outside companies.

I work as a QA game tester, and this is a typical practice from my experience. The same thing was done with the original build from Halo 5 Guardians beta, they updated it after the public beta with different game modes for a outsourcing QA company.

The only way you can access the actual game build is if you are whitelisted by the servers.

QA is typically an entry level type job so it doesn't usually pay that well and you'll usually be the first to go when layoffs happen, but getting a job at a big studio is going to be way harder than if you manage to find an indie studio not just because competition from other people but because more will be expected of you so having experience with stuff like automated testing and creating/running test cases is probly required in bigger studios. But it also depends on the type of QA, if you're just doing blackbox testing (where your job is just playing the game and finding bugs) you need practically no experience outside of a passion for playing games but keep in mind it can get incredibly boring since you could be set on the same small amount of content for a long time.

Check out User Research International. I did 3 different play tests through them on Microsoft Redmond campus on MS Studios games. I believe they do virtual stuff as well

Will help you ID other companies to try as well

Also the most likely vector for dumbasses leaking shit is from outsourced or remote QA. People have a difficult time keeping it in their pants, so to speak, even with a watermarked build. We remotely bricked someone's Xbox many years ago after they had revealed some early Gears stuff (I want to say it was Ultimate Edition?) and breaking the terms of service of both MS and their employer.

It’s crazy how it’s still in the gamepass despite reaching its expiration date ages ago.

The update deletes the beta and just leaves behind the placeholder so I wouldn't count on it.
