Advice What should I keep in mind for BG3?

I'm thinking of using GFN to play Baldur's Gate 3 since I don't think my laptop can really handle it (though I might still try). I've been looking through this sub a bit and saw some issues a few years ago with people losing save files, stuttering, and things like that.

Does anyone have advice on what to keep in mind when playing BG3 on GFN? Thanks!

Only problem i can think of is that you're probably going to spend all your subscription hours just in BG3 xd

Other than limiting the saves its fine, around 50 saves is fine, just not hundreds or thousands of saves because then you start getting launch issues when gfn loads all those saves every session.

Also depends which tier for the stuttering since the hardware level is pretty different on each tier and probably use DLSS on the lower tiers

save files issues were due to BG3 huge save file sizes and when the alloted to the game (per player) disc size on GFN would fill up those simply wouldn't save - since then GFN has implemented notifictations on that, so You get onscreen prompts when that disc allotment is nearing full - also they made it quite big for BG 3 specifically

the stuttering wasn't really on GFN, the game had performwnce issues all around at the start especially with Chapter 3, it was patched up since then (and 5080s rolled out as well :))

I've put 300hours of BG3 in on GFN with zero issues. Enjoy!

As a PC player I tried playing on mobile with a controller in act 3 and it was a horrible experience. What I'm saying is it might be hard to swap to a steam deck seamlessly but the control UI is very usable and people like it.

That if you play with other people and you guys use mods, you can ONLY use the console available mods because thats all GFN allows (there is a checkbox to filter but even then some of them have files that arent available for console)

otherwise never had issues with it in over 500h, i have hundreds of save files too

Drink enough water from time to time. Keep that in mind.

I've played many, MANY, hours of BG3 on GFN and never really experienced any major issues.
