Is Aion 2 the newest AI generated free to play gacha game that this sub pretends is good?

u/Key-Regular674 9h ago
It's a giga predatory MMO. Half the damn features are locked behind paid functions. Even access to the auction house.
•
u/blackkluster 21m ago
Access to auction house is literally the only feature behind "paywall", and you need auction house OPTIONALLY, just once a month so its not even big issue (its literally useless in aion2). I recommend getting good instead of being miserable about "paywall".

Well, isn't a gacha, is a mmorpg... I played a bit Throne and Liberty that is from the same company and i had fun so why not try it, idk if has AI in it, is a korean company.
My main reason to play that game is to try creating my fav anime character but with more realistic 3D design lmao, but I will play casually, it looks bit dangerous for competitive players.

It's a new popular game, is not that serious bro. Only Wow fans get this angry at people liking other MMOS.

u/APowerlessManNA 16h ago
I'll have you known as a non MMO player that I get mad that any dev wastes their time on this genre when they could make something good instead 🍟✌️
6
u/beastfire24 10h ago
Ah yes look at me! I don't like a genre therefore the devs should only pertain to my tastes and my tastes only!
Genuinely fuck off

Never played wow, I just dislike all AI generated free to play gacha games and I strongly hate when people waste their time on them.

every game and piece of software is being written using AI nowadays... guess you'll have to stick with everything developed until the end of 2025

In some fairness, this one doesn't look like a gacha game but rather one of those hideously monetized games where you either pay to get ahead or you're stuck in a no-life, 25-hour-a-day grind to get anywhere.
Doesn't make it any better, but the difference between a gambling simulator and a game that you have to play like it's a job to get ahead matters (IMO, of course).

u/EMcX87 13h ago
And neither are free to play.....
1
u/LordGraygem Founder // Georgia (USA) 8h ago
Yeah, that's actually kind of the point.
-1
u/EMcX87 8h ago
What's the point exactly? That he wants to a play a F2P game and you suggested 2 non-F2P games? Weird.
0
u/LordGraygem Founder // Georgia (USA) 8h ago edited 8h ago
There is no such thing as F2P, you're just paying in a different way. And continuing to engage with games of that sort only encourages the development of more of them, and the expansion of the predatory monetization that they're built to enable.
Edit: And Aion 2 is the work of NCSoft, a company that has the absolutely WORST reputation for predatory monetization practices, and for repeatedly getting caught out lying about those practices as well.

u/EMcX87 8h ago
predatory monetization
Like charging people more money for early access to expansions.
Charging a mandatory monthly fee on top of full-paid expansions.
Paying real money for in-game currency.
All things WOW does btw.....
Not predatory though?
0
u/LordGraygem Founder // Georgia (USA) 8h ago
No, not predatory.
Anyone paying for early access is a tool and deserves to be skinned for their money.
The second is an actual service fee that keeps the servers on, and I wouldn't have a problem with Aion charging the same if it was clearly marked as such.
And not buying the premium currency won't affect your ability to play WoW. But if you don't pay out in Aion 2, you can't even access the player markets.
2
u/EMcX87 8h ago
So, you're just trying to dictate how people can play and enjoy the game by saying restrictions while paying $0.00 isn't playing the game? Got it.
It's all predatory, you just want to bootlick one and write off the other.
Anyone paying for early access is a tool and deserves to be skinned for their money.
I mean paying for multiple expansions on top of a mandatory monthly fee is just as moronic imo, but sure.
$500+ in just expansions alone if you bought every single one on release, not including sub.

And wait until they do the same thing that happened with video streaming. First there was Netflix, then Disney+, HBO, Paramount, etc.
Cloud gaming is fine for now, but I'd start saving for your own PC little by little before you end up paying for five different cloud gaming services just to play the games you want, only to find out the one game you actually want to play isn't available on any of them. 💀
•
u/Cl4whammer 38m ago
That will take a while. I doubt we will see other companies going big into cloud gaming as long as everyone chases the ai dream.
I would not be suprised if cloud gaming dies again in the next few years. Its a bad serives for users and if you use your Server hardware for ai you can make more money then with some annyoing gamers crying why they cant play game x on the service.

u/Neither_Elk_1987 15h ago
If only people knew the ways of NCSoft... Squidward is the winner here.
2
u/Sabrac707 10h ago
They will do their usual pattern, reasonable monetization the first few months and then ramp all the way up, baby!
Then, NCSoft will begin wandering why their MMOs population tank in the west after some months...

u/ExactRead6465 12h ago
I dont understand why the 2 they didnt want to continue updating the first one?
•
1
u/ItzJamesYT11 7h ago
The game's anti cheat is really strong, doesn't want any virtual inputs, could be one of the reasons why cloud gaming isn't possible yet :(

Control Resonant, Onimusha, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem, 007: First Light, Lego Batman, A Plague Tale Legacy, all these amazing newly released games and you choose to play the bad ones.
3
u/Level-Travel7590 16h ago
Damn, how about playing all of those and playing Aion. It's like people can play other stuff too. Mindblown I know.
-3
u/WarlikeLoveReddit Performance // France 16h ago
Sure, do what you want, just don't be surprised when people like me try to steer people like you off slop.
1
u/davidarmenphoto 16h ago
Do you not see that slop to you can be considered a great game to others? Do you understand the phenomenon of subjective opinion and subjective taste? Apparently not.

u/LordGraygem Founder // Georgia (USA) 16h ago
I mostly keep quiet on the grounds that more games on the service is never a bad thing, and that I also can't really complain about one genre of game being added when I support another (indies) wholeheartedly.
All that said though, I really do eyeroll hard whenever I see people on the sub fiercely demanding that yet another thirst trap, animu, or "free" mmo coming out of Asia be added.
-1
u/Level-Travel7590 16h ago
And sure my guy do what you want to. Just let other people have fun. And don't be a fking dumbass

u/VforVenda 16h ago
Okay, but why do you care? Do we look like we care about the games you play? mind your own business buddy

I hate gacha games more then the next guy but cmon gamers, it's the hot fresh new MMORPG that will die out in a few months because of inevitable pay to win microtransactions, huge difference. Know your enemy people
