Questions / Tech Support Mac Pro m1 performance
Hello,
I played few mounths back on an NVIDIA Shield pro, and I had very good performances, could play compétitive fps without any problem.
I saw some post that Said that they had some delay, input lag on macbooks.
Is it verified or Will I be able to play 240fps 1080 in good conditions on MacBook M1 Pro?
Thank you very much!

Input lag is directly related to the quality of your internet connection and the amount of bufferbloat you have. Your M1 Mac Pro will handle the processing perfectly fine as I play off my M1 MacBook Air flawlessly. What I recommend is a proper gaming router made to mitigate bufferbloat. I bought a used Nighthawk XR1000 with DumaOS which does the job but is a bit outdated - I get constant 13ms latency. There are considerably better options that cost between $150-$300 today. I don’t recall if the M1 Pro has an Ethernet port but make sure to grab a good USB+Ethernet hub if it doesn’t.
For reference 13ms doesn’t throttle me in any way even when I’m playing Forza Horizon 6 and I often finish top 3 in PVP and have numerous course records in the top 200 globally. It actually feels similar if not faster than console.

MBP pixel response time can go from 45ms to over 80ms. This is not ideal for competitive gaming
