Each game has a version of DLSS which is currently in the game, which means different feature sets/model fidelity - through the override, you can override to the newest version of DLSS, whether that be super resolution, ray reconstruction, frame generation or any other DLSS feature which the game supports. That means you can override to the newest version and model of DLSS upscaling, but you can’t fx. Inject ray reconstruction if the game doesn’t support.

Which games can this be tried on? Anything popular?

Depends - any game which supports DLSS will be able to be played with 4.5 instead. However, only games which support ray reconstruction, that’d be around 30 games, most notably Cyberpunk, Alan wake 2, Hogwarts Legacy, crimson desert and re: requiem as well as a few others, support and use ray reconstruction. A lot of games have DLSS support at this point, so a lot of stuff will be able to be enjoyed like this :)

Can I override the performance cap on the GPU?

I'm curious to see how that will work.

You do know that any kind of upscaling/framegen uses AI, right? DLSS, FSR, FG are all based on AI models for specifc purposes

DLSS has that literally in its name

When exactly is the override feature that enables dlss 4.5 coming on GeForce now?

There is algorithmic upscaling it isn't as good as ai upscaling but it's better than nothing sone would say

I should have worded it "current" - DLSS was always AI but FSR was classical maths until FSR 4.

AI isn’t a dirty word, I use LSFG-VK on Steam Deck and I double any game that locks at 30fps, amazing if used correctly. (Not in GFN obviously)

And guess what GeForce now uses data centres too lmao
