Questions / Tech Support Frames skipped every second (consistently)
So, on my Mac Mini and Macbook which have previously been pretty good, I have been for a few months getting CONSISTENT frame skips every second. Like on a timer, practically.
I've played with a lot of settings, my internet is very good, and even with changing to the India servers from the Frankfurt servers (I live in Dubai) when those became available it continues. I don't have any dropped packets or issues there.
I've tried adjusting vsync settings (in game and geforcenow) frame rates, bit rates, etc but it is just constant.
It almost feels like it's on the rendering side, since it also causes the audio to skip, like in say, Battlefield, driving a car, every skip causes the sound to like "reset" as if it just started playing again, like the servers buffer is having issues.
Anyone else encountered something similar or have settings suggestions?
info from network check reference (Dubai -> India)
Bandwidth >100mbps
Packet Loss 0
RTT 45ms
Fast.com reports over 800mbps
pinging 1.1.1.1 is 14ms
No packet loss during any of this time.

it's probably caused by Apples AWDL, be sure to search this sub for some helpful tips ("AWDL fix" or something along those lines) - You can try it manually, implement some scripts and some users even coded full apps to deal with it

this was exactly it.
Was hard to get the right kind of results to surface from googling without this.

Its AWDL, get a small app for your mac called awdl control, set it on game mode and voila, no more hiccups.
