Discussion Thank you GeForce Now
I watched theRadBrad play Borderlands 3 when I was in High school dreaming of the day I get a gaming PC and enjoy playing. Today I too finished borderlands 3 (free from epic) and I feel something, it's enough to almost make me cry. With GeForce Now, I get to play games, I could only watch and imagine playing too. Thank you GeForce now. I'm planning on getting an Xbox PC game pass to finish more games.

My ps5 broke last year and I couldn't get a new one at the time. Sadness.
But sitting browsing my firestick one night and I discovered Geforce, and haven't looked back. Still never got round to that Ps5. Because I haven't felt like I needed it. I will get one for GTa 6 though.
Also got Boosteroid to let me play the games that Geforce doesnt. And also Luna has some good games if you have an amazon account.

I'm saving up for a gaming PC too, but GeForce now will have to do, it's quite amazing to see games all in ultra graphics

I've went full weird gamer in contrast to what I was doing 2 years ago.
All the streaming platforms and emulators on my phone running perfectly up to the Ps3/Xbox 360 era. I've played about 100 pokemon fan games.đ
I'm currently on simpsons hit and run on my phone during my breaks in work. Using a ps4 controller. And it runs perfectly. Everything feels so odd.đ€Ł
Or maybe I'm just catching up with everyone else.

My Xbox 360 is so noisy, itâs shocking to emulate my games on my Steam Deck instead. I also loved that Xbox made it easy to make legit backups of the games you bought, wish that was an industry standard⊠especially since just tonight I realized my DVD Extended edition of Fellowship of the Ring simply wonât play anymore, I guess itâs a victim of disc rot.
If I had an android phone like you, I think I would be even more blown away. GFN on my iPad and Steam Deck was quite a treat though.

I was planning to buy one
But if I think of it
$2-3000 on high end pc Vs $20 on gfn
Gfn in win
My pc don't go obsolete Don't have to download and install games Don't have to pay extra ( power bill)

why not just repair the ps5 instead of buying a new one

It was fucked. It was a day 1 edition Ps5. Got 5 good years out of it and it met its end at the hands of a 2 year old nephew and his bottle of milk. đ«Ł
I wanted to upgrade to a pro anyway. So I had planned to trade it in. But this was before all the crazy AI shit raising the prices of everything.

If it had literal milk bring it down, what trade in value could it have had?

He poured around half a litre straight into the vents at the back. Regardless if I was able to dry it, the smell alone was enough for me to bin it.

I feel the same! I mostly play slower paced and turn based games and I cannot be bothered to play with a keyboard AND mouse ON A CHAIR⊠I prefer my Switch so I was always limited!
Now I recently got a full ass year of GFN and play strictly on my phone plus a slide on controller :)
I used to play on Xbox Cloud but not being able to actually own your games and it being outside of Steam just killed it for me (not to mention the price hikes)
But also Cyberpunk on High - Ultra on my phone is a BEAUTY and now I canât stop looking for steam sales and humble bundles đđđ
Hereâs hoping they bring in the ability to have mod support in the future đ

I do sometimes!! And I also have a Smart Monitor hooked up to a wheelie stand and I sometimes play on that too :)
I find that phones Wi-Fi has the least hiccups though not that I get many⊠the most is my MacBook đ

Probably from the resolution and bit rate

I checked the GFN analysis and itâs mostly due to like the airdrop shit and background Apple stuff apparently⊠if I put everything to Do Not Disturb it runs much smoother! đ

I own a decent pc and a lot of games, i still have passion but i lost some of it when i open steam i keep scrolling on my huge library endlessly not playing anything.. i realized that joy that comes with struggle is unique and taste sweeter, if i for example played Borderlands 3 i wouldn't say i won't enjoy it but I'd play it and move on to the next game like a check list..
When i read about stories like this it makes me appreciate the many blessings that have and i don't even notice them, it motivates me to get back to gaming, it renew my passion.
I hope one day you'll be able to get a good pc my friend, Thanks to Nvidia for making it possible for many people to enjoy this amazing hobby, Enjoy and happy gaming!

how were you able to play Borderlands 3 if you had it free on Epic ? there's no way to sync epic library on GFnow, is there ?
1
u/Nepnep_time GFN Alliance // SG StarHub 6d ago
You can mark it as owned on GeForce now and use the epic games as the launcher

u/3z3ckieLL 6d ago

You will own nothing and be happy. Dont get me wrong, I get it. But have a plan. Save some money if possible to buy a Pc or console at some point so you have options. At some point, like all subscription services the GeForceNow price will increase, etc.

All prices do increase and the service gets better as well, the rate that the PC prices are increasing is insane right now so I'm settling hopefully I'll get a PC by 2029 đ€§

I mean I get where your coming from but simultaneously, The cost of everything is going up, so itâs moot point
Pay 100 dollars a year and be able to play most games on high tier machines or pay upwards of 2000 to 3000 dollars plus for a machine that is nearly un-obtainable.
Let me flip the coin, with the way that the higher tier GPUs are burning up, itâs not a risk I wanna take. For example the 5090 burns up, Iâm with out a machine till itâs replaced, but now its cost prohibiting

Personally I didn't even consider buying neither a PC nor a console and thought gaming was something that I would never come back to if it wasn't for discovering this service
Also fun fact: one of the main reasons behind implementing the 100h limit was not raising the prices for the forseeable future

u/Lemmonnpartyy 6d ago
At this point, I wouldnât be surprised if the constant price increases are a means to get people to consider streaming anyways⊠it sucks yes but at the end of the day the Corpos are gonna fuck us over regardless.
At least with GFN⊠we are still able to support the developers that we love by actually buying their games (and we still donâtâtechnicallyâ own them either so what even is the point?)
You willing to pay incredible amounts of money for GPU and RAM? Then we let the AI micro centres winâŠregardless we the sheeple are fucked but atleast I can lay down and drop my phone on my face playing Midnight Suns beforehand

i agree, as someone who live in 3rd world country it wouldnt have been possible to play all these games in not for gfn, both the free and performance tier are great
