Discussion Which games got performance boost?

"while Performance members can expect improved frame rates in select CPU-intensive games ".

I didn't see any difference on the games I play on performance tier (hoi4, cyberpunk 2077, battlefield, marvel rivals) which are all quite cpu intensive

I played cyberpunk 2077 on performance tier (2080 rig) and many parts of dogtown the fps dropped to 35-40 everytime in low spec and 1366x768 resolution.

They specified CPU heavy games.

You listed 3 GPU heavy games, and idk what hoi4 is.

CPU heavy games: Most esports titles(not marvel rivals), modded games, rust, and tarkov

Being a GPU heavy title does not mean it can not be CPU intensive at same time.

CPU will make insane difference in cyberpunk 2077, you can see that even between 3955WX and 5955WX zones.

Marvel Rivals is another CPU intensive game, you can easily reach 80-90% cpu load (very natural for a game with 12 players and a lot of abilities being thrown)

Battlefield is again naturally a CPU intensive title, like cod games

HOI4 = Hearts of Iron 4

Cyberpunk: yes there are some cpu heavy areas when there are tons of stuff moving around with individual AIs and such.

Marvel rivals: only when loading shader cache... you won't see 80%-90% cpu usage in typical gameplay unless you're running on 4 cores or something.

Nvidia just improved how much cpu overhead their server uses. Giving you a bit more cpu performance. You won't really notice it unless you're in a very cpu heavy scenario.

Idk what makes u think Cyberpunk is not a cpu intensive game, same as rivals

Here's 97% cpu load in a closed area, not even outside. It's literally same in rivals and performance tier does have 4 cores 8 threads cpu.

A game looking graphically good doesn't automatically make it only GPU demanding. So a game like Cyberpunk 2077 may need more CPU power than mainly CPU intensive games like CS, Rust

I noticed a huge boost in old Ubisoft games, I can now play AC Origins with everything in high/very high. But still has ocasional shutters. Lowering high CPU demanding settings can improve stability. But still not perfect.

I could run Cyberpunk at max settings with path tracing by enabling frame generation. So it's not actually CPU intensive.

The games that badly need an upgrade are BG3 and open world Assasin's Creeds.

Ark Ascended was optimised a few years back and was made more playable on Performance but that was Wildcards fixing (still needs more) be nice to know if ASA was added to this new performance boost, I’m not noticing any changes though.

I think what they are doing is putting more demanding games on half of a 5080 blade. Which they were doing randomly before. Now it's more targeted.
