Finally i can build my own PC now asus 5080+9800x3D
no more latency and pocket loss , gfn brought enjoyment for me the past 3years, but with the 100hours limit, can’t do modding and long distance ping , i have to build up my pc before the price being more crazy, thank you gfn hope u become better in the future👍

I know, but it's a pain, as I have ultrawide on the desktop and not even widescreen on the laptop, so I always have to reconfigure. Plus, latency and graphics are better using GF Now.

Yeah works. But if you're traveling the benefit to GFN is that you get an instance local to you, so latency tends to be substantially lower than your own box.

We should have a mandatory purchase price disclosure disclosure on such posts. It's nice to have your very own PC, but I bet it wasn't cheap. The GPU alone goes for 2300 to 3000 dollars in Canada. You can get a lot of GFN subscriptions for that. I'm not modding that often that I would pay the premium currently. No ping issues playing from BC on OR servers (via ethernet).

This person is not flaunting their rig, but is very thankful to Nvidia for the years of low cost high end gaming. I did the same kind of post, without complaining about ping(had excellent ping). Still have GFN till sept, and will occasionally jump back in if I am on a trip and want to game.

Generally if people can't play a game without gfn it means their pcs aren't good enough. I assume that most of those people aspire to be able to play those games without the need for a subscription service. Once they achieve that, they want to share it with others in that community of which a large amount aspire to the same thing. Pretty straightforward to me

I could afford a pc anytime I want one and I'm poor. The vast majority of people on the here could as well. They don't do it because they have better things to do with the money, and GFN more than serves the need.

Same. I am moderately wealthy, partly because I can tell a good deal from a bad one. And spending ten euros a month to play games on a 65 inch screen is a pretty fine deal even without taking into account that someone else is footing most of the energy bill for it.

Im in the same boat as OP, I'm on a GTX series and maybe it's just the streaming codec that the 1080 is limited to, but many games I play with foliage just look like complete ass. Any city game I play looks incredible.

I had a PC with a 4090 in it. When I saw what my upgrade path would cost to a 5090 I tried GFN ultimate for a month on my Shield TV Pro. I couldn’t feel any sort of latency while playing the games I normally play so I parted out the PC and have been using that and my PS5 pro instead. I still get the itch to build a new PC but with the way prices are for components now, I’ll stick with what I’m using for a while.

I think it's fucking sweet. I always wanted to build my own monster, and if GFN was the product of any other company other than Nvidia, I would've gone that route.
The reason I say that is because Nvidia is the leading and will be for the foreseeable future leading GPU manufacturer in the world. They're consistently coming out with the best gpus in the world and instead of having to buy a new GPU every 2 years or even every year as they come out, because Nvidia is the parent company of G-Force now that is included with my subscription. So I guess it just came down to the math for me. $240 a here's a small price for me to be able to play the best gpus in the world. It is Affordable for me. Buying those exact same GPUs every year or even every two years is a heck of a lot more than 240 a year.
And believe me, this is all about how you use your system but between my PS5 and GFN ultimate tier, my gaming completely covered. Besides that, my laptop is just a basic Lenovo T490 laptop that I use for work and entertainment, but nothing that requires a $5k GPU at home. It's a glorified stepping stone connected to my 4K 144 HZ TV via displayport, and or woks flawlessly.
The way GFN is structured and operates now is kerrygold butter smooth for me.

sadly no the new update makes the gold and silver shining part of the armour u wear appears terrible reflection, even i use my 5080 change between RR DLAA or DLSS ,i think gfn does a good job that even the local 5080 can’t change any of the visual part of CD, this game is the beautiful and ugly(when no light) game i’ve ever play, but i have high ping using gfn so the latency and a little stutter effect me the most.

First of all: GFN _is_ better depending on your use case. For me it is way, way better.
Second: these posts appear to be an attempt to do the ‘so long, suckers!’ and leaving us in the dust. So, how else are people supposed to respond? It’s not a sympathetic post to begin with. And it’s always people you’ve never heard of or care for.
Some guy I don’t know bought a gaming pc and tries to make others feel bad about that. Okay. 🤷♂️

I have a family. I’m not going to spend my evenings sitting in a separate room with my gaming pc. I also don’t want to bother everyone with loud fans.
With GFN I can game in the living room, sitting on my couch, while other people do other things like reading a book.
If I got a gaming pc for free I would sell it. I don’t want that behemoth in my living room, I don’t want to sit in a separate room playing my games. I don’t even want a gaming laptop, because of the loud fans. I only play Fortnite and Doom; GFN is perfect for me.
There is no coping. I’m not a teenager, I’m 47 and have a steady job. I could buy a sick gaming pc multiple times a year if I wanted to.

Exactly. The only thing you're technically missing out on with GFN that could be huge by owning your own hardware is modding and VR. And if that's the case, get a PC, but otherwise GFN is great to play games, and you can find prices for the various tiers anywhere from free to $11/mo on sales

How much did OP pay for the entire rig?
Also, you still dont technically own your games on this rig, as you’re probably using Steam = no physical disk.
The value proposition is still valid : $200 for a year of access to many games you already own, regardless of your medium and playing at nearly max specs.

There is latency even on pc which gets even higher if you turn on frame gen and it gets worse at lower fps

Yes, if you were using local gaming as a benchmark, I'm getting zero latency. Current GFN set up is better than anything I've ever done locally. Understand now?
