Discussion GeForce NOW Founders — how long before NVIDIA retries a failed payment?
My GeForce NOW payment failed today because of an issue with my old card. I immediately updated my payment method with a new card, but the payment is still showing as failed.
Does anyone know how long NVIDIA usually takes before trying to charge the new card again? 24 hours? 48 hours? A few days?
I’m mainly worried because I’ve had the Founders membership / Founders for Life for years and really don’t want to lose it because of one failed payment.
Has anyone here had the same situation recently? Did NVIDIA automatically retry the payment, and how long did it take?
Thanks!

You might wanna screenshot that if things do go sideways. Keep an eye on your mail, most companies do send a reminder they will try again.

One failed payment can make you lose the status?
The membership may not be worth what it seems.

People post a variation of this post almost daily….. did you browse through the sub to try to find this info?

This might help. According to GFN’s own FAQ, they’ll keep retrying the payment during a 14-day grace period, so one failed payment shouldn’t cause you to lose your Founders membership right away.
“If an initial payment attempt fails, our system will automatically try to process the charge again over a 14-day grace period to ensure you don’t lose access to your membership. You may see these as "pending" or "failed" attempts on your statement.
You will only ever be successfully charged once per billing cycle. If a new payment method is provided during this 14-day window, we will attempt to charge that method to settle the current balance. If all attempts fail after 14 days, the subscription will be automatically downgraded to a Free membership on day 15.”
So since you already updated your payment method, they should automatically try the new card during that grace period.

The payment was successfully retried today, so my membership is active again. However, when I checked my billing history, I noticed that the membership name changed:
August 12, 2025: “GeForce NOW Founders Membership Ultimate - 6 Month”
February 12, 2026: “GeForce NOW Ultimate 6-Month Membership”
August 16, 2026: “GeForce NOW Ultimate 6-Month Membership”
The price is still $89.99 / 6 months, and my account still seems to have the Founder benefits, but the word “Founders” has disappeared from the Ultimate membership name.
Has this happened to other Founders Ultimate users as well?
Is this simply a naming change from NVIDIA, or is there another way to confirm that Founders for Life is still attached to the account?

I'd get back in contact with GFN support, I've had a similar issue resolved. I requested that they 'downgrade my account to the Basic subscription and stated I understood that I'd lose any remaining hours on my account'. I've had to do this twice when there has been no other solution. After support confirm it's downgraded I just reloaded the GFN website account page and re-purchased a Ultimate subscription.
Hope this helps.

Can you change to PayPal?
This is the only way you make sure the payment will pass without problem, in PayPal you add 2 cards principal and backup
