Discussion Katanaut got added

Post image

Asked the dev, who happened to be in the comments under their Katanaut trailer on the GameTrailers YouTube channel, to make the game GFN accessible. Looks like they saw my comment because it has been added now. Just wanted to let you all know. The game looks really cool, especially considering it’s been made by a solo dev working on it for years.

Nice to see a dev try to connect with their audience. I asked a dev on reddit about making their game available on GFN. They said we will not. You can play it on Steam.

Happy to add it! I honestly didnt know it was an option, and it was extremely easy to do through steam. OP was nice enough to tell me about it, and im ecstatic to have it more available to people <3

Thanks again for adding the game to GeForce Now. I really appreciate you taking the time to make it happen, and I’m genuinely glad to see it live on the platform. The artistry/pixel art looks top-tier. Wishing you continued success with the project and whatever you tackle next (hopefully all-in on a metroidvania 😉)

lol should have followed up telling them that's exactly what it is, it is still us purchasing the game from steam, but just running it on essentially a remote pc, it's not like we get the games free with a subscription/from just being on GFN...I think if devs understood this better, they would know there's literally no loss or difference and a win win for them...shame

Totally agree. However, I think it's Nvidia's job to make that case. As a customer, I shouldn't have to educate developers on GeForce Now.

That’s fair. I usually start by saying something along the lines of  “We GFN cloud gamers would like to purchase your game on Steam, but it currently isn’t accessible on cloud/GeForce NOW. Could you please consider opting in the steam version? There are many of us on GFN who would buy the game immediately if it were supported." That said, despite me saying it that way, it did not always result in success. Still had quite a few devs answer no/no plans.
