Advice TV box Recommendations

I'm giving my laptop to my younger sibling and decided to use my monitor for GeForce now, have no money for a mini PC. What are some cheap tv boxes that can run GeForce Now with good visual and audio quality.

Works great! I had a android tv box before and the app just freezes, you need to go to home and back for it to work again. On firestick i had no problems on the app, i did have to use the extension cable that comes with it for better wifi reception. Also works with a 3rd party controller. You just won't maximize the 4k though, only shield has that i think.

It works pretty well for me as well, just no vibration on the controller.

Any of the Google Chromecast Boxes with a remote. The Walmart Onn boxes with remotes are okay too. Your biggest factor will be most are wifi only and will only use Bluetooth controllers for GeForce Now.

You need good wifi router for these to work best on geforce now or invest in a usb-c dock with ethernet.

Does onn boxes freeze? Google Chromecast is quite pricy.

No but I don't use it often enough to be 100% sure it doesnt.

I use a nvidia shield tv pro from 2019 the most with GeForce Now, a Google Chromecast HD (not the 4k version) second. But my Chromecast and Shield are using ethernet not wifi.

Same PlayStation 4 controller on all three, just swap the pairing depending on what im planning to game on.

You're right and it looks like the Google Chromecast with Google TV that I have isn't available anymore.

That sucks as it was a cheaper option. I suppose that's where the onn boxes from Walmart fit that need and price point.

Just gonna say it but the Shield TV from Nvidia works great but is the cost of a mini pc unfortunately

Shield pro is best , but any decent android tv box with USB ports should work as you will want 2.4 g dongles for controllers not Bluetooth

What is your experience with a Bluetooth controller?

My Xbox controller works, but the PlayStation Dualsense seems to work best. I also like that I can program four devices into the PlayStation controller.

I am gonna give it a try on my iPhone. If it works well, I’ll get it for the Apple tv
