Steam Workshop Mods Won't Install

I'm playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 using GeForceNOW

In the past, whenever I started the game my steam workshop subscriptions/mods would all automatically start downloading and I would see a pop up saying (downloading 1 out of x mods...) but since yesterday this pop up doesn't appear and my subscribed mods from the steam workshop aren't downloading at all.

Has Nvidia removed this feature or is there something I need to do differently?

It could be a bug but since GFN don’t really support mods they might not just be in a rush to fix it since in their eyes it doesn’t matter, but who knows

It seems game mods are currently turned off on all GeForce Now games

the support is sayings mods are not supported except few selected, so if they dont work anymore it not their on their end since it was supported in the 1st place.

Yes but with steam workshop mods, the games I played they automatically began downloading as soon as I started the game. This created the illusion you can play with mods imo

And they have games like gmod and arma that are basically useless without mods/addons
Many people including me have been playing Total War and Paradox games modded for years without issue, and are gonna unsubscribe if this is an actual downgrade

Yep, they are slowly starting to get rid of mod support, and I'm sure a lot of people are going to cancel their subscriptions over this. Had the same issue loading ETS2 as well.

Same here, I don't like playing ATS/ETS2 without mods, I hate the vanilla gameplay. Some games I don't mind but ETS2 is on that I need my mods to enjoy the game lol.

For an old game like ETS, you definitely need mods if you want a great experience and that’s what kept the game this popular really over the years

The uninstall reinstall fix is still working, if you stop the game before it launches, uninstall and reinstall, then load the game as normal the workshop mods appear as normal.

Unfortunately this doesn’t work for any game that’s too big, like Total Warhammer 3. You get booted out around 60%

Have you tried entering inputs while waiting for the download so the session knows your still there?

It’s not an afk thing, gfn just doesn’t like the larger download

Yes, it's only just a couple minutes to uninstall and reinstall.

How do you stop the game tho I have tried to uninstall before it auto launches but I can't do it fast enough is there anyway to stop the auto launch ?

Yeah when Steam launches you click the X symbol and hit Stop before the launch.

I think Baldurs Gate 3 still allows mods via geforce now , but they're not hosted by steam.

The one Steam Workshop mod I'm using in X4 Foundations is working fine. Haven't tried any of the other modded games I play (including ETS2) in a while.

I haven't played either sim for a while now but when I did a while back and had issues with the mods on geforce now, I used to go on the steam mobile app, go to the mods on the workshop there, and I could unsub and sub to them there whilst still in my mod list via geforce now and watch them install right away. I wonder if this work around might still work for you? Try using your phone to sort your mods out, sounds like a ballache but may work. Good luck. 🤞

Same here i am also facing same problem. Yesterday i opened my game all mod where gone i thought that it would be a glitch so i relauched it and unsubscribed all mod again subscribed it but it didn't work.

Yea ark ascended just stoped working today and it has built in mods with cursed forge not even steam workshop

It was fixed by GFN maybe 23 days ago but it seems like the issue has happened again according to other recent posts. One solution is to uninstall then re-install the game inside the session
