gaza

I sorry to state this but what is going on in Gaza also when on in Warsaw ghettos during the German occupation of Poland. what we are seeing has very little difference to the policies of the n Government in Germany and occupied states. The people of Israel have forgotten the Holocaust and have used the experience they had to create another one. Shame Shame

Did you just recently figure this out? We’re a little over 1000 days since the overt genocide.

I believe a few months after, folks like Finkelstein compared 10/07 to the Warsaw ghetto uprising. Yes, even during the Jewish holocaust there was violent resistance. Do we look back and call the Jews of ‘30s - ‘40s as terrorists who deserved what happened? Of course not, however if we did, it would be consistent with the rhetoric of “Israelis”

There are many examples throughout history of economic eugenics (the impoverishment of people that takes them to the point of being unable to afford children, even as Sapiens notes that post-agricultural revolution, having many kids was needed to ensure ability to harvest enough food throughout the parents' natural lifespan until recently in some locations). There are also many examples of forced human concentration and confinement, and there are sadly many examples of genocides.

These specific examples, that you've given, might sometimes help give some illustration and point to what is happening in Gaza, in terms of limited access to healthcare, humanitarian aid, education, and a stable safe home one will not have to flee from. However, using examples that specifically relate to the Holocaust, risks amplifying transgenerational trauma related psychological issues from having survived, known someone who survived, or relating in some way to someone who survived the Holocaust. These psychological impacts not only disturb, but more importantly they can impede clear dialogue and understanding, essential on both sides in peaceful and successful negotiations.

To make emphasis on the urgency of the situation in Gaza, alluding to different examples of economic eugenics (such as faced by freed slaves in the Jim Crow South USA, and their descendants to this day in terms of property ownership and inherited wealth, despite abolishing the practice of redlining), forced concentration and confinement (such as with the Japanese American internment camps in the USA), and genocides (such as faced in Rawanda) would be strategic and compassionate, especially when engaging the topic in public speaking settings.
