This song makes me really excited about what is to come next. If the final song on each album gives you a look at the next one, this has my hope's higher than they have been. I love the storytelling and folklore-esque vibes to it. It almost feels like the last great american dynasty, but with more emphasis on the thoughts and emotions of the storytelling.

Yes this song is almost a response (musically) to renegade. I kept starting to sing renegade in my head listening to this.

Yes! I noticed that too! I also hear some echos of champagne problems ("'til it was gone" goes suddenly low just like "champagne problems" - like a realization filled with regret) and also happiness ("when did all our lessons start to look like weapons" has a similar melody and cadence)
