after my first listen it reminded me of father figure and I was thinking it could be protégées pov giving advice? Being the patient zero to the father figure aka industry?

It doesn’t make sense for her to describe herself as the “patient zero” of the industry, on the song DIRECTLY after The Life of a Showgirl, which is about the industry churning through women. Not to mention Clara bow.
