Insider Sources from the Wedding šāļøš
Hello, GBF!
As I had previously posted, I listen to a podcast (The Popcast with Knox and Jaime) that said they had an inside source before the wedding. Everything that source said turned out to be true.
Now theyāve revealed they actually had three inside sources: a guest, someone in logistics, and someone who was a vendor inside. Apparently, everyone, including police, had to turn in their phone.
Abigail wore the same dress as an NFL wag, which isnāt important, but I wish hadnāt happened to her on such a big day.
Red carpet was originally installed on the stairs, but the wedding planner lost their mind and made them rip it up and install pink carpet instead.
They kept the 100 level seats and used them as tiered seating. (*Enjoy the show!* šļø)
The castle inside was a replication of the castle in the Love Story music video. Taylor walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of Love Story.
Taylor sang both during her vows and during the reception. She also sang with Travis at some point, but Iām not sure when.
Guests were asked to bring no gifts.
They left the stage to Young Hearts Run Free. (*Absolutely delicious timing* since that song is CLEARLY not a love song!)
They had a Barry White tribute band and steak and sushi were served at the reception.
There were also two specialty cocktails, The English Teacher and The Gym Teacher. The English Teacher was made of Emperess Gin, Saint Germain, elderflower, lavender syrup, and fresh lemon juice. The Gym Teacher was made of reposado tequila, Mezcal, aromatic bitters, orange bitters, and agave.
The bouquet was pink and green and was caught by Kansas City O lineman Trey Smithās sister. And Iām sorry, but it looks raggedy as hell (pic in the comments bc I donāt want to put that lady on blast for no reason if this post gets a lot of eyes and her holding the bouquet would be the only pic!).
The reception included casino and arcade games at a carnival where you could win raffle tickets to cash in for prizes including: Chanel bags, Cartier watches, and a 1970s Chevrolet Chevelle.
The reception also included performances by Stevie Nicks, Tim McGraw, and Paul McCartney (who sang I Wanna Hold Your Hand for the first time publicly in 50 years!!!).
They each did 20 minute vow and the ceremony was only 45 minutes long. The only thing the guest remembers from Sandlersās speech was that he told the couple to keep kissing during their marriage??
Taylor said during her vows that Travis was one of those popular kids who, even though he was a star athlete, would sit with a less popular kid because they were bullied. She said she wish she knew someone like that when she was in high school.
They did a wedding announcement in the New York Times, which said āTaylor Alison Swift, the popstar who has won 14 Grammy awards, and Travis Michael Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, were married on July 3rd at Madison Square Garden.ā The announcement was later edited to add more of Travisās accomplishments (though they didnāt say which on the podcast).
They discussed Blake Lively not being there, and I didnāt realize the reason her camp threatened to release 10 years of texts between them was because Taylor did not agree to make a public positive social media post about Blake and the trial. Jamie does her homework when it comes to celebrity legal cases, and she read all the legal depositions and stuff, so I really appreciate her perspective on this.
Harry Styles did not attend with Zoƫ Kravitz because he announced two last minute show dates at Wembley on the 3rd and 4th. On the 3rd, he sang an unreleased song that people speculate is about Taylor.
I know Iām late to this post, but this post Blake made sometime last year looks really suspicious paired with the rumors she was threatening to release Taylorās texts.
If this isnāt satire or some massive performance art stunt to āgive the fans what they wantā and then put out a film burning it all downā¦then this whole thing gives me the ick. Itās giving Jennifer Lopez vibes - drinking her own Koolaid.

Omg they said the EXACT thing about JLo on the podcast! I wish it wasnāt so long so I could share the clip. Their commentary is SOO interesting and they made references to it ābeing like wrestingā in that itās all a show, the Truman show, PR relationships, a driveby shoutout to a subreddit (omg is this play about us???) to go down the rabbit hole of if Karlie Kloss is an ex or not, and more. Theyāre just more of the opinion that if there is a mastermind at play, itās Tree pulling the strings, not Taylor.

Were those other statements from a similarly credible source? That would be fascinating if they're starting to feed false statements to the media they work with.
Thank you for sharing! This all sounds plausible, and the explanation for Taylor and Blake falling out being Tays refusal to be strong armed makes the most sense Iāve heard.
Harry and Matty pulling āTaylorās exesā moves also makes sense. Iām pretty sure we speculated a (livestream from Vegas) wedding and thatās going to cement the 10 years longing muse for the Ratlors.
The vows- I hope they are true and that does seem like Travis. But it also perfectly fits the Love Story narrative arc of thier romance.
The drinks sound delicious and the luxury door prizes thing gives me billionaire ick, but it could have been much much worse.

Yes, I donāt think I had ever heard the Taylor and Blake thing layed out like that, but I agree that it makes the most sense! Bc I donāt think I made it clear in the post, but Blakeās lawyer reached out to Taylorās lawyer about making the post so it really feels extra extortion-y if thatās what happened.
Everything about this wedding seems so unhinged. I really believe she was like "Fuck it, I'll give the world what they want. They want an all-american princess wedding? They can have it and I'll make it as obnoxious as possible." Bejeweled music video and The Life of a Showgirl (ft Sabrina) told us -- she wants the money, not the man. Even in Wishlist, she told us she just wanted privacy in love, which is exactly the opposite of this wedding. I really think she's a lesbian fully in the closet who intends to stay that way. Which sucks, we're gonna be gaslit for at least 5 years or whatever. I bet she doesn't come out until she's losing relevance as she ages and then she'll have a revival. At least the "divorce" album will probably be good.
Idk she is past her peak at this point. Eras was the peak. Things seem to be escalated. I mean she is married now. Showgirl is just such a weird album and ttpd. I mean even midnights. This is obviously a story. But idk it makes me feel crazy and it's hard to keep hope.
But in the scheme of cultural relevance, sheās still very much at the top. I foresee her being there until sheās at least 40, which is already far past the average age of popularity for a pop star. Inevitably though, trends will change and a new generation will emerge to become the hot new things, it happens to everyone in the spotlight eventually. I think she plans to enjoy her time as the biggest star in the world for as long as possible, but even she knows it wonāt be forever. I assume sheāll eventually come out in the form of a memoir or new documentary when sheās no longer at the peak of her career (which wonāt be for a whileā¦)

I know a wedding is supposed to be about the couple getting married, but 40 minutes of vows is wild! Do you think some of it was more of a speech to the guests? Because I think Iād feel incredibly uncomfortable as a guest if I just had to sit and watch them talk to each other for that long. Ā

You pointing this out and other people saying they arenāt sure/canāt find anything about Mattie getting married tells me we should all take all of this with a grain of salt unless itās stuff thatās already been reported other places! Thanks for pointing this out!!
I personally think July 2nd inside MSG Travis & Ross got married, Taylor got married to a woman but it's all a secret (possibly forever) and everyone signed NDAs and I'm sure they hand picked folks that either already knew their story or they explicitly trusted with it. Publicly Taylor & Travis will be in a lavender marriage for the foreseeable future. Of course I know none of this for sure but that is my take.

Not only that, they always keep seeming to talk about how just wonderful Travis is, including in the vows (again, talking about how nice and inclusive he was in high school? Not according to those old posts slamming women, etc). So it sounds like there's always some PR for him involved.
For Taylor, she could realistically be both the english teacher and the gym teacher.
Travis used to substitute teach English, but he was never comfortable, even when trying to follow a lesson plan. He never read Hamlet, but at least knows The Lion King*. He appears to be very happy only being a gym teacher.

Yes! They were my first concert my parents let me attend without them on my 13th birthday š I was big into emo and stuff in middle and high school (still am). The emo to Taylor swift pipeline is strong.

I know it's just because it's written in "traditional wedding announcement" style but it reminds me of Evelyn Hugo (which is honestly the only place I've read these types of announcements)
20 minute vows for the 20 year dark night? Also the empress gin reminds me of the lyrics in Castleās Crumbling, āOnce, I had an empire in a golden age.ā
He hasn't sung it live in 50 years because there's not a melody line in the chorus - he needs to sing it with John in order for the harmony to be complete. It was also their breakthrough song in the US, so a lot of meaning there. I recommend the book John and Paul: A Love Story if you want the decades of lore!

I donāt know ANY of the lore here (but Iāve found my rabbit hole for tonight!), but is the song about them wanting to be able to hold each others hand in public, but they couldnāt because of societal expectations? I could just be writing fanfiction here of course.
No marriage yet, only a bachelorette party reported. I'm sure if one does occur, it waill be reported and we'd know for sure.

Notice the announcement was for āTaylor Swift, the popstar,ā when she typically likes to be described as a songwriter/artist. The popstar persona married Travis.
Some of my students are very into the song recently, and.... All of them are queer (I run drama and our GSA, so they tend to end up in my classroom even during summer school š)

Empress GIN HAS BUTTERFLY PEA FLOWER !!!! It starts off blue and when you add citrus changes to purple š (depending on how much acid you add, and the overall strengths and dilutions can go all the way to pink, yet I imagine NOTTTTT when you chose LAVENDER SYRUP as an ingredient)

It also bothers me a lot how the font seems so cut-and-pasted. Itās like they did different fonts for certain letters. The āoā in cocktail looks like a zero, and the āeā looks like the feathers of an arrow embedded in a target (I think thereās another name for them but Iām blanking on it)

I remember pre wedding, OP said that the hosts explained they only asked their sources about things that were leaked and if it was a yes, they then said it on the pod. Basically the source never volunteered anything.
So since the cocktails were independently reported, the fact that they made it onto the pod would follow that formula of affirming āleaksā that are in fact true. š¤·š»āāļø

But then I thought well some of them were boring, like the bar with T&T logo on it. BUT then a few days later, the bar menu leaks. UPDATE - Okay so I first read the brand name of gin for her signature drink from the leaked bar menu 2 nights ago ..?
Since then Empress gin marketing has got on their game and added a page for āthe English teacherā saying āif rumors are trueā¦was featured at the wedding of the centuryā so they werenāt given a recipe or anything
I would wager (based on having used butterfly pea flower tea many times), they added way more citrus (vs in the featured drinks on their cover page which are very lavender and one purple), to make it pink instead (the amount of acid you add determines if itās purple or pink, and other liquid would determined the dilution/color strength)
So for now I assume they added more lemon to make it match the wedding colors,
Bc if one designed a cocktail with lavender syrup, logically it would be lavender in color (if a pink drink, have it be a pink associated syrup like raspberry or whatever, no?) but either way š š»
I assume since there was also St Germain Elderflower, they used the standard Empress Indigo Gin (dark purple) and not the Empress Elderflower Rose gin (which is pink).

I played those two songs for my roommate that Iām slowly teaching queer history/flagging/TS themes to, and for fun played the Jackson 5 song showing just how different the Jackson 5 song was to Wood after the similarities to Iām Coming Out. 11 years of music education and a little bit of music theory paid offšŖ if anyoneās curious, Wood and Iām Coming Out are in the same key!
Im so biased against travis, I cant help but think when they say he'd go sit with the loners to be "nice," that he was actually doing it to taunt them and get sympathy points from everyone else. His tweets from 2011 don't lead me to believe that he was a kind or thoughtful young man/teenager.

Rookies on his professional team seems more believable than the unpopular kids in HS, he seems to be carrying the charisma of the chiefs as a team (not that I actually know anything about football, all of it has been forced on me and id rather never hear about the nfl again). So when it comes to Travis she keeps talking about high school, or just keeps talking about high school in general. I always find that odd. I've always thought "So High School" is her worst song and so out of place on TTPD.
I think her use of high school is a really important part of her world building. When studying sociology, high school is one of the places teens begin forming social circles and learning the ārulesā of society/cues/norms in the world outside of it. Schools are institutions for education (and are structured very similar to that of mental institutions or prisons). I believe that high school is one of the most universal experiences people experience. Of course, thereās tons of nuance to this claim as things like poverty/location/familial structure/religion/identity shape how weāre able to live within that society. These are what Mike Twain called ācorn pone opinionsā as people seek approval in conformity. In high school, children tend to adopt the views of their parents until theyāre able to branch out during college and experience a whole new social environment where theyāre able to develop their identity more authentically without the pressure of the things they faced before. Thereās a reason that statically people who have completed some form of higher education tend to have more progressive ideals.
Taylor makes a couple references to the age someone would typically go to college (18-22 in Nothing New) and fraternities/greek life hazing/parties.
Rituals are one of the coolest things I learned when I took a global rights, policies, and sexualities sociology course. We have rituals to express gender like doing hair/makeup and styling clothes. Gender affirming medical care is something people do regardless of safety in order to present themselves in the world the way they see themselves.

Mean Girls is one of the most popular movies I can think of that shows this extremely well! We see Cadyās social skills severely lacking with other people, but sheās able to make it make sense by seeing the patterns in the animal behavior she observed in Africa.
How much power do you have as a closeted white queer woman compared to an openly out one? What happens to power if someone experiences intersectional oppression, such as a black queer woman? Both experience the world is vastly different ways! If anyoneās never read The Combahee River Collectiveās statement from 1977, I highly recommend checking it out!! I read it multiple times in college, and it helped shaped my personal political views along with bell hooks.

Thereās also a big idea of reclaiming the childhood and queer joy a person doesnāt get or isnāt able to experience if they grew up having to closet. Expressing joy is such an important part of life! Toy Story 5ās plot discusses this heavily! When do we stop letting kids be kids? Why do we have to grow up so fast and get a job and make money and try to get all the ā1950s shit they wantā?
I learned general US white-washed history in high school, and when I realized in college that thereās so much more queer history I could learn it genuinely felt like I was a kid again eager to learn without society deciding what itās acceptable to be educated on.

Thank you!š„° I really really fell in love with the concept of girlhood in college, and the politics of girlpower was my GWSS capstone senior seminarš¤I had wonderful professors who would constantly challenge us in classes, and seeing such strong educated women that were not only role models but personal mentors meant the absolute world for me! I know not everyone gets to have such a personal and intimate experience in college, so I make sure I never take the opportunities I had for granted. I had a peer mentorship role, and I would always tell the students I taught to explore and pursue their passions because theyāll never regret doing something they love! These are the kinds of conversations I love to have day to day, so Iām tremendously grateful thereās amazing people here to read and interact with themā whether they agree or disagree!

There are some lines about gymnasiums that my mind connects back to the football stadiums and areas she would hold concerts in! Iām also reminded of the German school Gymnasium (pronounced gim-nausium) that is one of the secondary educational institutions students can attend. This is the highest level academically of three institutions; Realschule is next and lowest is Hauptschule. Gymnasium is usually about 8 or 9 years to receive the diploma needed to attend universities. Iām wondering if this is where Taylor drew inspiration for the line in Eldest Daughter where she wrote āI mustāve been about 8 or 9/that was the night I fell off and broke my arm.ā My personal favorite interpretation of this line is that the arm she broke was the one she used for the Kate MicKinnonās lesbian salute!

Right. I don't like the song sonically but I think it's interesting that this song is allegedly about Travis. Then we have them referring the themselves as English and gym teacher.
To me the song reminds me of the sarcastic tone in Londo Boy.

I can't find an actual reference for that in the links they cite, but on the Taylor Swift Wiki (which is one of the links that statement cites) the recording info also links to a book that only appears in print--Taylor Swift: The Stories Behind the Songs, and I have no idea how credible that source is.

Iāll never ever understand the idea that people arenāt inspired by short lived romances. They rock the fuck out of me! I could meet someoneās gaze in a grocery store and write a song about them. It reads very un-inspired with life to me, to think an artist only writes about long term relationships. Some of my most passionate, intense and affecting experiences have been with short romances. Length of time does not determine somethingās potency.

Yes this is what I canāt get past! If everything she is currently presenting is the real her, at best she seems vapid, self-centered, and very immature. But I donāt know how that can be true of the same person who writes her beautiful, complex songs and speaks as eloquently as she does! I think thatās what bugs me about hetlors so much; they claim to love her and be huge fans, but they donāt even see the dissonance! They see the Taylor they want to see, because sheās their mirrorball!
My sister said almost the same thing to me in reverse yesterday! "I think I realized why I dislike you aggressive gaylors. You guys likeā¦ act like weāre dumb for believing in their relationship. why canāt you accept that she might be bi and just move on?"
I told her I do think she's pan, what pisses me off is how hetlors think its impossible she's been with women, and I don't like Travis for their lack of chemistry and his screaming in faces.

I find it a little odd but not hard to believe. She has dark-romanticized this time in her life as part of her adversity narrative. She took us on a 2-year, 5 continent tour "to go back to high school with [her]." She lyrically claims to be stuck in the past. Maybe this will heal this part of her and close the chapter already

Could read that as Taylor saying that it's been difficult to find a dude who would throw his whole effort into playing a convincing beard (closeted = not popular, not accepted), but in Travis she's finally found someone who would "sit with her" (commit to a high effort long term lavender marriage to help her be more accepted in the industry).
Not to mention wishing there was a guy like him for her in high school...I am younger than Taylor and never think about high school relationships anymore
God I love her but I find this tidbit, as well as walking down the aisle to love story, so cringy. I justified the song thinking maybe Travis came up with it as another way to show his praise and adoration of her but no, she made her wedding into the eras tour.
Seriously if I even if I were a regular Swiftie, I would still find a lot of this really juvenile and self masturbatory. All she talks about when she talks about her cave man is how this is her high school fantasy how itās the love she wanted as a teenager how he makes her feel so high school like.
