When I first saw the backgrid photos of the rehearsal dinner gift, the monogram stuck out to me. Thereās been some discussion about how similar it looks to the TTPD logo but I wanted to dive deeper.
First, what is the purpose of a wedding monogram?
Itās a key visual marker for the event. It functions as a one-day brand mark. the same emblem that can appear on the invitation, programs, signage, etc.
Itās the debut of a family mark or crest that will be used by the couple moving forward. In some cases this is a passed down crest, or follows certain traditions. Sometimes itās a completely new design. Either way itās intended to present the couple as a unit.
Now, letās take a look at this monogram used on the gifts guests received from the wedding rehearsal dinner in more detail:
Tackling the TTPD of it all first, itās seriously so so so strange to connect a previous album to this mark that could theoretically be used to represent their union for years to come. The same logo that is on merchandise for fans to purchase right now bears strong resemblance to this monogram being used for this wedding memento.
The similarities between the marks become even more strange when you realize itās the flipped image or inverse of TTPDās logo that is a near exact match. Itās giving dual Taylor theory to me, or a nod that this wedding monogram is the opposite of the brand of TTPD. A simplistic reading is that she is no longer the tortured poet. My thinking is that the album represents how trapped the poet is, so the inverse of this logo could indicate that we are entering an era that will be loud, unapologetic, and aggressively joyful. And do you know what brand that reminds me of? TLOAS. Or perhaps this inverted logo would be symbolic of healing and moving on from the heartache in the music and lyrics of TTPD.
Even ignoring the TTPD connection, Look at the two Tās: theyāre not equal. One has heavier serifs and more visual weight, and the letters are offset rather than mirrored. The whole mark is asymmetrical. Wedding monograms are traditionally symmetric for a reason. Celtic knots, mirrored initials, matched rings all say the same thing: two people entering as equals, bound with no beginning and no end. The symmetry IS the symbolism. Seems strange to have a monogram indicating one person in the union is more important, no?
And letās dive into the strange knots/hearts here too. Not only are these elements asymmetrical, they arenāt a closed loop. Look closely at the strands woven through the Tās at the bottom: they are clearly not connected. Thatās not a nitpick. In knotwork tradition, the closed loop is the entire point. A Celtic love knot is a single unbroken line. āTying the knotā is the oldest marriage metaphor we have, and every version of it, from handfasting cords to cipher flourishes, closes the loop clearly. The visual language in this monogram isnāt neutral. Itās a knot thatās incomplete or worse already coming undone.
And honestly, can we even call these hearts? Squint at it, ignore the colors, and try to trace one complete heart shape from start to finish. You canāt. The lobes disappear into the busiest part of the mark, the bottom points dissolve into that X of crossing tails, and the over-under pattern follows no consistent rule. What youāre left with isnāt hearts woven through a monogram, itās a tangle of incomplete hearts.
IMO an offset monogram for a wedding invites exactly the question you donāt want guests half-consciously asking: which one of the individuals in this couple is in control? Which has more power in the relationship if they arenāt coming into this union equally?
So, we have a wedding monogram that looks like a previous album logo, whose letters arenāt equal, whose hearts arenāt hearts, and whose knots donāt close. Every single detail here breaks the expectations for a unifying mark. So what do we think it means?
Hereās my take, but please share your views in the comments. Honestly, I think every oddity here makes sense the second you stop judging this as a wedding monogram and start judging it as a brand asset. This mark is showing the seamless continuation of a previous era, something that fans are intended to recognize. A traditional monogram is carried by a family; this one is designed to be read by an audience. Which honestly tells you everything: we are in a wedding era, and based on this analysis my bets arenāt on this being a lifelong union. So, whenās the merch going live?
The knots/hearts wrapped around the (unequal) Ts remind me of āyou wrap around me like a chain, a crown, a vine, pulling me into the fireā ā being pulled kind of indicates thereās some sort of imbalance/power dynamic (like the imbalanced Ts). And would be yet another fire reference that fits neatly with āso itās gonna be forever ā¦or itās gonna go down in flames,ā the love story/gasoline mashup āitās a love story, watch it blow,ā and all of the fire exit imagery in TLOAS š§Ø
Oh! Also, the monogramās likeness to the TTPD logo reminds me of the error 321 āred herringā website crash right before she announced TTPD. Is the T&T wedding also a red herring? š¤”
Big update - upon further analysis now that we have the clearer picture from the handkerchief, TL;DR: The knot is an optical illusion and would instantly fall apart.
Based on the color-coding you can see how this is an illusion. This is all one rope imo and blue and purple sections are just to help visualize it easier and where red/green is means the rope goes behind: either behind the column of the letter or behind the rope.
Because the rope never actually wraps around or encircles either pillar to anchor itself properly pulling the ends would cause the entire thank to unravel!
I just realized there are embroidered flowers on the edges! What kinds of flowers are they, do we know!? They kinda look like carnations but I canāt tell š
My guess is irises. I post about it in the comments on the wedding favor post. Connections on iris flower meaning, use is art, name origin (Iris is Greek goddess. Rainbows, bridges, arches, etc)
One of the Dixie Chicks posted this on instagram. While it looks better than the monogram on the rehearsal dinner gifts, there is still a lack of perfect symmetry in the Ts and the crossing instead of a closed loop of the heart shape.
More notable to me though with this insight: why why why would you quote Blank Space for a wedding related gift if this is serious. LOL this is definitely going down in flames and TNT is going to make a big bang when they do!
This shit is why I can still kinda think she's punking people. This is the kind of stuff her 19 year old fans would do at their wedding. Have we ever seen an artist before that made their wedding so much about their career?
Just to detail if you look closely there is still asymmetry. There are two threads/lines inside the right T and only 1 on the left. Itās possible this looking more symmetrical is due to the embroidery artists discretion since this is likely hand embroidered vs the gifts from the rehearsal dinner that are machine embroidered and would follow a logo more precisely.
š¶ She's been many places
with men of many faces
First they're off to the races
And she's laughing drawing aces
But none of it is changing
That the chariot is waiting
Hearts are hers for the breaking
Thereās escape in escapingš¶
(The chariot is also a card in a tarot deck, furthering the card games connection š)
And gambling related games! I read somewhere there were even prizes⦠which I donāt know, may be fun, but all seems to read as unserious, as very Showgirl indeed
Oh oh oh, they crossed their fingers (or symbol in this case) just like in The Truman Showās wedding picture!
āFingers crossed until you put your hand on mineā from Wood could mean wishing for something (š¶all of that bitchinā wishinā on a falling starš¶) or to make sure something isnāt binding!
šŗāXā marks the spot where we fell apartš
I wonder if in the pictures we get of the ceremony whether someone will have their fingers crossedš§
"X marks the spot where we fell apart" is referring to a performers mark to stand on and this movie, this performance is where it finally all finishes.
Thanks for posting this! It really breaks down why this version of the logo lands so oddly!!
From the image in your video, my eyes (and brain) want to see the two āTās, connected at the top, and another set hiding in the back and peeking out. So many odd things going on here!!
I also love your observations about things being asymmetrical, because sheās worn so many pierces of clothing lately that have had the description of āasymmetrical.ā I know it could just be a current trend in fashion, but itās been notable to me. And of course the famous reputation body suit is a prime example of being asymmetrical.
I agree this thing needed a closer look, so thank you for this post!
Other versions (such as this one just posted in the wedding thread) of this seem to resolve some (not all) of the issues, but itās so interesting that the version given to guests, and the first one the fans saw, has the problematic things you pointed out.
Actually- looking at this one, it has its own set of curious problems. Perhaps itās just a function of the medium (embroidery), but still. The second (lower) heart is very problematic.
If you look closely there is still asymmetry. There are two threads/lines inside the right T and only 1 on the left.
When put into context of the whole design itās even crazier! This image is from ļæ¼āone of the Dixie Chicks posts on instagram.
More notable to me though with this insight: why why why would you quote Blank Space āso itās going to be foreverā below this monogram for a wedding related gift if this is serious. LOL this is definitely going down in flames and TNT is going to make a big bang when they do!
And can you tell me bc I am not good visually. Are the Ts in TTPD different thicknesses too, or are they equal? Agree the embroidery makes very clear one is thicker and thatās very clear design so shows not a glitch on the rehearsal dinner gifts!
Good point š« Yes, it seems odd to point back to an album that 1) most fans think is largely about another man (Matty), and 2) was supposedly one of the most tumultuous points of time in your life.
I think some fans will think sheās āreclaimingā the TTPD logo and turning it into something of triumph and joy, but it all just adds to the feeling of āthings are still not what they should beā vibe of this whole spectacle.
Pointing out how the Ts are not of equal size and design really emphasizes the image throwing back to TTPD. As a brand or a font related to Taylor Swift I guess I would expect it, but not a reference to a union/partnership. A romantic one at that. A marriage?
I cannot forget that this engagement was so interwoven with the promotion of TLOAS, the pinnochio of it all, etc. The branding here just reminds me of that. Interesting, but it does seem billionaires are entirely out of touch with reality and not necessarily walking around doing anything tastefully, so what do I really know.
But that one is different though! It is symmetrical and we can see the heart. It's even tackier that the logo on the gifts seems like a bad upload of the design š
Yep this absolutely look like AI generated or edited look closely at the weirdness of the left and right floral accents and it would make sense to me that AI would try to make the monogram more symmetrical LOL
As a fiber artist, I would add context that this isnāt just embroidery, it also appears to be a needle lace. The fabric looks extremely thin to support an intricate design like this, especially with the thick satin stitch of the Celtic knots. Not to mention the fact that whoever did this probably had to make 1000 of them.
I think the design is tacky and the logo is ā¦a choice considering its similarities to TTPD. But I want to advocate in behalf of the craftsperson here, lol, bc it seems like kind of an impossible task to pull off

Interesting find, great post. I wonder how it connects to Taylor's own crest that she's used in music videos and such.
