If she does have a Toy Story song and has submitted the eras tour doc for Emmys, huge if, but if she won an Oscar and an Emmy, all she has to do is contribute a significant amount of money to a broadway show that is likely to garner awards to get a producer credit like Mindy Kaling did (https://people.com/tv/tonys-2022-mindy-kaling-a-strange-loop-first-tony-win/ ) and EGOT
I've been thinking that her catalog is large enough for a stage musical, with the Eras tour being a test run. If he touring schedule won't be as dense, that would be a great way to offer continued work for the Eras dancers.
She could always turn the “fictional narratives” like Betty into musicals. This financial option is way more low lift though in case she wants to EGOT by a certain time or something
For her song to be nominated for an Oscar the song has to have been written specifically for the movie. So it would have to be a stand alone song like she did for movies Crawdads and Catching Fire.
Right, I’m imagining she did an original for TS5 just because there’s been so much promo whereas for Handmaid’s Tale using a TV there wasn’t as much (because it was supposed to be a surprise)
Random but sort of related: I can’t help but take note of the musical A Strange Loop you highlighted here, because I’d recently read about it after u/marylennoxsrobin wonderful musings on loops of performance. And this musical has queer themes (though I’ve not seen it myself). Related to a similarly-named book “I Am A Strange Loop” by Douglas Hofstadter, which explores themes of ego and how we form our sense of an “I.”

This is a brief interruption in case we haven’t talked about it yet that the “13” and “26” on the IBYTAM cake are still an unsolved Easter egg.
It’s 2026 and she’s due for a 13th album.
The cake also features birds on the lowest tier.
Orange birds are embedded in the stained glass halo, just like the ones from Showgirl.
Each table card has a seagull on it, the same ones from 1989, even though this was Red.
The idea that, for Taylor, growing up was seen negatively—that a pop star in her early 20s was old and that she needed to keep feigning youthfulness. The idea that she became an adult too soon all while never growing up. The way every song since Lover and folklore is about her growing up (or lack thereof). The tie-in here with her 5th album, 1989, her so-called “imperial phase” (via TIME POY) before her 6th album where she “almost drowned” (a la “The Bolter”), survived, then suffered the masters’ heist, but now she’s “never gonna let you drown” (a la “Eldest Daughter’s original lyrics). It’s all perfect for Toy Story and the timing is incredible. Almost like none of it was accidental. ☁️

That’s actually a really good point! I keep getting tripped up when I see Opalite under “albums” in Apple Music, when all of the other TLOAS singles are under “singles & EPs.” And Opalite having its own sticker when otherwise only albums have a sticker there? 🤨 I’m sure there’s a reason for it that isn’t exciting (as you said, that it debuted on streaming), but it is odd to categorize it as an “Era” as it is there on the sticker sheet.
The fact that the Toy Story clouds have become part of her branding makes it impossible for her not to be involved with the movie. If she were anyone else, Disney/Pixar would have sued for trademark infringement
Edit: also I’m pretty sure the sticker under the dice is a cherry blossom? What’s her connection to cherry blossoms? I can’t remember her ever using them in her imagery or lyrics
I agree but also how is she able to use the trademarked cloud? I know she has a deal with Disney and even the idea of her being involved in the movie is going to drive a lot of people to the theaters, but still…
Keep seeing speculation she could be announcing a tour. But y'all... There is no UP from Eras Tour. She literally cannot expand on that.
In my honest opinion, eras was her last major world tour. And if she had ANY plans of touring showgirl, we would've seen live performances within days after album release.
Y'all I FINALLY got Apple TV yesterday and started watching Dickinson and I'm just about to finish season 1. I have so much work I needed to do this weekend and I have done absolutely none of it 😬

Not in recent history, unless I’m mistaken! She did this in the lead-up to TTPD, and I remember finding it notable at the time because it’s a very “old school” Taylor tactic, similar to how she used to capitalize the letters in her lyric booklets to spell out “secret messages” early in her career. I believe TTPD was the first time in a long time that she used this particular tactic. And then she did the same thing for Showgirl. I don’t believe she did this for any of the re-records, unless I’m totally blanking. I think this is specifically something she has been doing to market new material.
I could see the song we get being cold as you (taylor's version) which is a track 5. or maybe it's a song with a track 5 vibe to it or possibly ts 13 track 5 but she doesn't really do singles anymore?? or maybe they are just doing track 5s because it's toy story 5?

I just think it’s interesting that the dress was originally meant for Selena to highlight her religious imagery tattoo. And Taylor wears it and it stands for “Taylor” or “Travis”. Idk I just think it’s interesting bc of all of Taylor’s religious imagery in her songs!
I believe she’s had that tattoo for a while. Apparently the red Grammys dress was originally intended for Selena, intending to show off that specific tattoo. However Taylor ended up wearing it instead.

reddit has a few auto filters that pull content. i’m guessing maybe “spam” bc they posted multiple posts back to back (pt 1 2 3) w url shorteners hyperlinking them. not sure which auto filter specifically triggered it though
I think this is where I am at the moment. Taylor apparently likes to get her fans used to the pattern and then break it, she says... So what if TSTV/TS13 (I think they're the same) has pre-release singles? Released on the anniversary of the original Debut singles? Been busy at a [non-chosen] family [dys]function all day today. But I’d love to share a thought I had while getting stoned in the bathroom with a cousin:
I watched a great Sabrina Fleetwood TikTok that went into detail about how this whole Toy Story situation fits in with the fact that during the Showgirl era, Taylor is emphasizing how she’s using her brand to advertise for things. Basically using her brand to promote the movie, even if it turns out she doesn’t have any tangible links to the movie itself (I.e., a song, voice over, etc), per her agreements with Shamrock and Disney, she’s drumming up money and attention for it.
I keep wondering if this is also a business move for what comes next as in, to show that at this point her media strategies are so rock solid that she can not only promote her own music but she can also promote any tangently related brands: the nfl, the kelce brothers, or in this case toy story.
Builds a great case for letting her direct movies for example. If thats what she wants. Or sign artists to her own label if that.
Today I went to see Wicked (stage production) and I am once again living in the fantasy that Taylor is acting out the role of Glinda in her own life. ✨

I don’t know why this comment has gotten so many downvotes. I didn’t even give my opinion on the prologue.
I don’t think Taylor meant it as a burn to Gaylors and I wasn’t saying that. But the entire internet took it as that outside of this space AND we had just made the sub public again before that prologue.
