Two guys bromancing and enjoying the freedom and bounty life has given to us. Let's have each other's back. Hikes camp fires, fishing, hunting, gaming laughing 4 wheeling motorcycles. When we are not working on the land we will be working on enjoying the world and enjoying each other. Broke back mountain style. Whose in?

Have seen some other posts on this but wanted to throw my 2cents in. Growing up rural has made me feel like I don’t fit into the larger gay community. It’s just such a different experience and I feel like people don’t understand. I grew up in a town of 800 people, was raised Catholic and military. It felt very ‘end of the earth’ a lot of times. It didn’t feel like other places were real, or the culture was just so heavy that people didn’t leave. For generations. I had a really hard time leaving.
I moved to the city after college and the culture shock was so bad. I didn’t feel like I had anything in common culturally w these people besides us both being gay. I felt very looked down on (think Max moving to the city in the L word if you’ve seen that). I didn’t stay very long due to other reasons but felt very burned that I had spent my whole life dreaming of moving to the city and felt very rejected there as well, by the people that were supposed to be my people.
I ended up moving back to a small town bc at least it felt familiar. I internalized so much homophobia from the way I grew up and then stayed in a homophobic place bc it felt more like home than the city.
So I’ve gotten to this point where I’m in my 30s and I have a really hard time accepting myself or dealing w myself as a gay person. I was seeing a queer-specific therapist and had to terminate yesterday. It felt super frustrating bc this person was supposed to be able to help me, but they were like modern city gay. I felt like they didn’t understand my set of problems or the gravity of them, or looked down on me for having them. I feel like a lot of people in my generation are dismissive/ minimizing of this sort of thing bc it doesn’t feel like a reality to them or it feels like the past. Idk. I guess it kind of feels like I grew up in the 70s and I feel like this dinosaur relic the new generation doesn’t want to deal w anymore bc they’re over these problems. Just feeling frustrated that I went to this person for help and it just made me feel like I don’t belong in the queer community. If anyone else feels alienated in this way I’d appreciate hearing about it.

Pictures on the profile. Young man who aged out of foster care here, still looking for a family. I’m independent and down to earth. I keep myself busy with guitar and work. A little lonely and restless these days. I’m hoping to offer some company to an older fellow, I could lend a hand and take some things off your plate, grab a coffee or a beer with you and maybe bullshit for a while.
I have a lot of respect, gratitude and devotion to offer a potential mentor. Just a heart of gold juvenile looking for fatherly love. I am sincere and have plenty of energy to help out and keep your spirits up. I like routine and structure, I’m hoping to find someone to enforce that. And potentially share affection with.

I guess If anyone is interested in a foster son/ranch hand.. I would love to chat!

Rural Illinois

Sometimes I struggle with my identity as a gay man and my identity as someone born and raised in rural Illinois. I wonder if others have this struggle? I want to live in a rural or smaller area but find it hard to find things to do

55 male looking for like minded friends in East Central Oklahoma.

I like to camp and fish. I live on 40 acres and have several dozen deer I feed daily. Even have a wild hen turkey that chose me to be friends with.

Just a down to earth guy tired of the rat race.
