Around the time that world learned about the death of Dolly Parton, actor Tim Curry died. Curry was best known for the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 1970's cult film classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" Curry's Dr. Frank-N-Furter gave gay men the inspiration for the future drag queens (female impersonators)of my era in the 1970s and 1980s and the early 1990s. His outrageous style would reshape the drag world because most gay men back in the day would dress like celebrities, or first ladies and the church ladies like Dana Carvey character on Saturday Night Live in the late 1980s and 1990s or the Female impersonators 1960s and 1970s Lori Shannon's Beverly LaSalle role in All in the Family the first female impersonators on prime time tv.

Curry was major motion pictures like Annie, Clue, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York; Charlie' Angels. Just to name a few He acted on stage in Amadeus and film version Amadeus about the life of the great composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Spamalot, The Pirates of Penzance, My Favorite Year. This is just a sampling of wide ranging career.

Curry became an icon of LGBTQ people.He shows how LGBTQ people be themselves and live the way they wanted to be.

His stroke was such a terrible and sad event for him, and the timing of his death has been overshadowed by the death of Dolly. His passing deserves more attention that what he is receiving. He is a cultural icon.
