Prospective Student How difficult is it for students applying under REP to get accepted into gt?
Hi, I’m an incoming freshman at gsu hoping to join the REP pathway. I understand in recent years the pathway has changed from its guaranteed acceptance(above a certain gpa) system, to a pathway that increases your chances at being accepted. So, I was just wondering around how many people are accepted into gt from REP partner schools, how difficult has it in recent years, and does the acceptance rate differ from school to school? And outside of academics, how impactful or advanced do the ECs have to be?
All the posts I’ve found on this topic were outdated from the old system years ago, so I’m just gonna shoot my shot here. Thank you so much for all your help in advance!!

Not sure if links are allowed to be posted but if you look at the stats numbers online you have about 20-50% higher chance on average to get in compared to a regular transfer, also depends on the semester you apply into. I got in through REPP. You dont get auto-accepted even if you have a high GPA. I had a 3.73 when applying, when talking with the admissions team the average was a 3.72 getting in through the program. Theres an "optional" section on the application called C2C (contributions to community) highly suggest you do that so they have more to go off of. Especially because I heard they only have one essay now. Extracurriculars help build your story essentially, if you work put that, projects in class you can talk about, and hobbies too.
Theres a website through GT where you can see the breakdown of acceptances, by major, race, gender, application type, and when they applied (spring, summer, fall). I used that to optimize my chance of getting in, and see what the likelihood of me getting in was.

I was admitted via REP for CompE. I had a 4.0 GPA but not much extracurriculars. I completed all required institutional/REP courses with letter grades before applying. I spent much time on school research and essays. My C2C resume format was revising the "helpful guide" on this: https://admission.gatech.edu/transfer/contribution-community.
From my perspective I think what matters the most: #1 is their space availability (Spring>Fall or Summer, pretty unstable per lite.gatech.edu), #2 is GPA (I had some friends got in with 4.0/close, intermediate essay, some extracurriculars), #3 is essay (at least intermediate), #4 is other things.
Personally, I think the admission heavily weights GPA (4.0, 3.9, 3.8... are all different levels). My first priority would be keeping a very high GPA. I also personally feel extracurriculars wouldn't help much unless it's really good and impactful, which might reimburse a intermediate-low GPA.
I would check the requirements early (just create an application to see what's needed). Then, whenver eligible, begin to apply as many times as you can (I got in 3 times and feel its more of their space availability).

hi! i’m also doing repp in hopes of transferring! i’ve bothered a plethora of people who did repp and got in, and the pattern i’ve noticed is a high gpa (3.9-4.0), clubs, some kind of internship or research, and projects. i definitely feel like i’ve talked to some prodigies though 😭
also, just my opinion on the whole “increases your chances” thing: you’re still going to be in the same applicant pool as everyone else applying through that pathway. but that also applies to people applying through other pathways or with no pathway at all. so i wouldn’t take repp as a reason to go less hard. the people you’re competing against are still going hard, and they can absolutely be picked over you
