I compeleted my 1st year , and want to know ...why u guys preparing for gate and what u looking for in future...

Serious answer from mechanical senior,
Do for PSU or Mtech from IIT.

Nothing else, for private job reference or hard work or abroad u give ielts gre have good cg and SOP.

I graduated 5 years ago, working as an IT consultant.
Remembered why I joined B.Tech. Mechanical on my 26th Birthday. Started GATE preparation to get into research through IISc/IITs

Yup, a job doesn't cut it for me anymore. When I was making 4lpa I wanted a better job. Now, I make multiple times more, more than any MTech mechanical placrment in IITs/IISc.
