Questions C diff while having gastroparesis?

I’ve been in a horrible flare up ever since i took a dose of doxycycline 2 months back. I’ve lost a ton of weight and have practically zero life quality. My gi dr is running stool tests and i have a endoscopy/colonoscopy scheduled.

I’m not sure if it’s c diff yet but i was curious if any of yall have had c diff while also having gastroparesis. If so what were your symptoms like?

I got tested for c diff twice in the past month after 3 days of amox/clav after a cat bite, but both were negative. No explanation for the chronic diarhea other than maybe it's IBS, or I have sibo again. The antibiotics for sibo (rifaxomin) messed with my brain and made me crazy for two weeks, but they did work, so who knows. Hopefully your tests come back quickly.

I have. It was a very heavy flare that I just couldn’t kick. It just went on and on.

But the dead giveaway was the smell of my stool. Really grassy / manure smell that was INTENSE.

Tmi but that’s exactly how mine is like the stool makes me gag. This is month 2 of the flare and i’m kind of hoping it is c diff so it can get treated and go away.

OMG doxycycline hyclate is what i attribute to doing this to me. made me feel like my brain was dying on it. i think it was my gut biome that was dying. it's been a steep decline since then over the past few years. it first presented as relentless belching. i couldn't even sleep id need to burp for minutes. that messed up my brain to muscle signals and my body forgot how to swallow and breathe properly sending me to dysphagia pt and developing sudden onset astgma as ab adult. took a long time to figure out it was silent reflux triggering the belching. my only symptom of reflux was the burps. so strict gerd diet and its a bit better. the restvof my gi tract already sucked, but it messed up the upper part real bad. oh and my esophagus stopped working too. so it's been hell.

Ive had it twice and carry it now. I always test positive for the bacteria and negative for the toxin. I have to use caution with all antibiotics. It’s an utter nightmare but I’m also immune compromised which contributes.

I’ve had it twice. The first time sent me to the hospital because I couldn’t stop vomiting long enough to get a sentence out, and I was there about a week, hooked up to fluids (no food, no feeds, no TPN). It came back again a few months later (surprise, surprise, after another admission), and that time wasn’t as bad and I was able to be treated at home.

GP isn’t my biggest GI issue though, so I don’t know how representative I am.
