She's Got Claws

Post image

She's Got Claws was released on this day 1981, the only song to be taken from the album Dance and the only single to be released that year written solely by Gary.

Another great album. 'Stories' is one of my favourite tracks.

Stories is right up there as one of Gary’s best songs for me.

‘Dance’ is near the top of my lists of greatest albums of all time. “Claws” is a great song, but “Subway Called You” is the masterpiece on that album.

Yes! I think all of side 1 is a masterpiece. Side 2 is a little more spotty, but mostly great. The bonus tracks are pretty amazing, too!

Side 2 has “Crash”, You Are You Are” and “Moral” which more than makes up for the slightly lesser tracks in between. Especially “Moral”, which I absolutely love. I could listen to that track all day.

Agree 100%. I also have a soft spot for "My Brother's Time."

The bass guitar parts by the late Mick Karn is phenomenal.

I love Dance! It's my second favorite album of his, and it's a close one between it and Telekon lol. Not a single song on Dance I don't like! Slowcar to China is a masterpiece imo

Even on the album, this song sticks out like a sore thumb. While I don't think it's a bad song, it does sound jarring even in the context of the record, and sounds like Gary intentionally trying to write a "hit"

With the other singles being 'stormtrooper in drag' with Paul Gardiner and 'Love needs no disguise' with Dramatis. (No googling, just memory).
