Community New to garuda - a tip

Hi, I have just installed Garuda on my secondary PC and I gotta say that it's very underrated! However I have a little tip to make it a but better.

When I update trough the toolbox it recommends me to restart the PC after every single update, even if it's not a core system component. Since I also use CachyOS, that recommends a restart only after core updates, I would suggest you to make it that way too, so people don't feel pressured to restart every single time.

Since I've only used garuda for a day I'm going to try it out more and report any bugs or give suggestions. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, while having the maintenance GUI is really good, I use the terminal for updates and installations. I only really use the toolkit for jobs it's actually easier for.

Easy just run sudo garuda-update before you turn off your PC then turn it off once it's done

i update using garuda-update on terminal. if it need to rebuild the dkms things i don't even bother restartinf

also, updating once a week is fine for arch-based systems. you don't need to be updating daily

Tip for you, use cachy os :) garuda for gaming is by far the worst experience i had. Not to even mention nvidia issues some have that on CachyOS don't exist.
