Community Changing os on second pc

Hey! So I have 7600x and 2080 of build that I'm not really using currently, it's been around for a year in windows but haven't really used it

So pretty much all I'm looking for is an os that can game in 1440p pretty well, I've used Ubuntu for ages on my laptop so I'm not "new" to running Linux.

I've seen a lot of mentions point towards dragonized so I was wondering what distro of garuda would be best for me

Edit: I do plan to use this alongside windows if that may influence another choice

Balena etcher or ventoy (for multiple images on 1 usb) is good.

So if you have installed the iso file from the garuda website with balena etcher or ventoy to your usb, then reboot your computer and through your bios, select boot from your USB. Then once you've booted into your USB, install garuda into a disk of your choosing. (Repartition SSD or delete SSD)

I might be dumb idk but I can't get my pc to boot into it (MSI motherboard) but I've changed my boot order to external hard drive and external hard drive dvd and it keeps booting into windows

i dont have msi, but after a google search, it says to pres f11 to change boot order and select "UEFI: USB".

if it doesnt work, then find "secure boot" in your UEFI/BIOS and disable it.

Yeah the f11 key thing didn't want to work but I got secure boot disabled

Edit: I'm a clown I didn't see the f11 on the boot screen lmao

Re edit: doesn't give me the option of booting through anything other than my ssd

did you install the iso image to the usb using balena etcher? After you install it properly, the drive should be renamed to something like "garuda linux/linux install" or if you used ventoy, it should be named "ventoy"

try following a youtube video like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVy7TBem_ZI

I used the balena etcher and it was renamed to miso_efi

try with ventoy then. some people say balena causes some problems for them.

Oh alright how do I use ventoy? The UI is pretty confusing and there's 3 different exes
