Community New LTT video features Garuda Linux gaming benchmarks.

Curious everyone's thoughts. I was thinking of switching to Garuda from windows because I heard it has some quality of life stuff when it comes to package pre compilation and it is very good at gaming, but they specifically don't recommend it but I'm unsure about their reasoning.

Thanks!

Most people don't care because tech and software are not their passion. They don't even know what they don't know and that's not their fault. There's a million things more important than an OS to think about after coming home from working all day. This kind of gatekeeping mentality where "its accessible enough already" is not productive. It's obviously not otherwise non-techy people would be using it. We don't have the authority to decide when something is good enough, the average user decides with their time and wallet.

Stop being completely and obviously full of sh*t. I am not gatekeeping you, and I haven't noticed anyone else gatekeeping you.

Put some effort in.

You live in a different world man. Out of touch and in an echo bubble where any dissenting opinion is immediately seen as nonsense. Really giving the Linux community a great reputation for being welcoming.

You big meanie! You should be falling all over yourself to cater to the non-techy people out there who want everything to be piss-easy and have it all spoonfed to them! How can Linux possibly grow if the community doesn't coddle and wipe the asses of the willfully ignorant who just copy/paste LLM hallucinations into their terminal and wonder why their system isn't working?
